BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1983
NEW 2021 Transfer!
Meticulously Remastered!
Originally posted September 25, 2014
“Living My Life” is a Grace Jones song released as a single in 1983.
The track was originally recorded for the album of the same name, but for unknown reasons, it did not make the final cut. It received a scarce 1983 release as a UK white-label single and was officially released only in Portugal.
A remixed version was released as the B-side to the UK reissue single of “Love Is the Drug” in 1986. The original long and dub versions are yet to be reissued on CD.

Thanks for this Paul! I’m still hoping there will be a deluxe reissue of Slave To The Rhythm this year…
Many thanks Paul.let’s hope we get a remastering of the album as we did with the other two Compass Point productions.
I’m ‘trying’ to vote 5 outta 5 !
More like this…..
Many, many thanks. I love love love Grace
Thank you Paul! I was literally just looking for this single after realizing that the song is not featured on the album with the same name. I was like “let me see if it’s on BurningTheGround” and wow, it’s actually the first post I see. 😀
Gonna use this coincidence as an opportunity to finally donate a bit for your awesome work over all these years! (I’ve been meaning to do that).
Thanks again and have a good weekend! 🙂
She is one of the best Bond villains. 1980’s forever!
Grace, Tina Turner, Sade, Chaka K, Jody Watley, so hot!
Thanks Paul. This sounds fantastic. Great transfer, as usual. The Grace Jones albums with Sly & Robbie are sonically amazing, simple but such great space (and bottom end). Have a nice weekend.
Sly, Robbie & Ms. Jones baby! My favorite of her LPs is Living My Life. Thanks Paul!
! HELL YA ! Put some Grace in your face !
Although I never listened to her songs, she was a big part of the 80s as far as club tracks, movie cameos, modeling, etc. She is/was one independent woman, for sure!! I loved her in Boomerang.
I have never heard this track but I really dig it! Very spunky, funky, and right up her alley.
Thanks for this rarity as well as very peppy song, Paul!
Have a great weekend!
Have a great weekend! Fred 🙂
Like Song And Dance and you dear Paul, I too adore Grace Jones. You’ve so far expanded my horizons with your collection of fantastic Ms. Jones records. I can’t thank you enough for this re-rip. The other one was only an MP3 and I so wish I downloaded your original in 24 flac.
Have the best weekend Paul.
Jeff
Have a great weekend! Jeff 🙂

You’re welcome, Greg 🙂
Fantastic post, my friend. As you know, I adore Ms Grace Jones. I´m so looking forward to comparing your remaster to the already great original post. Let´s see whether my neighbors from across the street like Grace Jones just as much 🙂
