i have this, in vinyl! it is in my hands from 1988!!! many thanks, Paul. i’m in search for the 12″ with extended remix / house mix etc… neven seen phisically!!!
Wow, you never see Gladys Knight featured on blogs – thank you for sharing this, DJPaul!
I think I saw them on this tour at the (then ) Houston Livestock Show And Rodeo, which is now Rodeo Houston. It was – on one bill – Gladys Knight and The Pips AND Commodores. Both did great, but had to leave early,as my mom (her then job had a night each year that was their “Rodeo Night”,not too shabby for a hospital!) had to work the next night and she needed her rest.
I always loved this tune. Post “Love Overboard”…
Thanks
Thanks Paul. Nice song and awesome remix. My favourite single by Gladys Knight is “Love overboard”. Would also match with Februlove 🙂
I find some resemblances between this song and “Money’s Too Tight To Mention” by Simply Red.
I will have too see if I hear it too 🙂
Yes…and also the tones sound like Running With The Night by Lionel Richie.
Many thanks Mister Paul,
great post!
more Gladys Knight & The Pips
(waiting for “Send it to me”)
Regards.
You’re welcome BE.D12” 🙂
I’ve always enjoyed the music by Gladys Knight & The Pips so I’m looking forward to this 12-inch extension. Thanks so much Paul!
Jeff
You’re welcome Jeff 🙂
You did again, querido Paulito 🙂 What a great song. Haven´t heard it in years and I wonder why. I do not recall it hitting the charts over here at all but I might be wrong there. I HAVE to be wrong as it is so great and hypnotic. I´m amazed there are so many remixes of that song – just checked on discogs. Anyway, love it. Thank you Paul.
As far as I know, it only reached #81 in the UK but did better here in the states. I don’t think it charted anywhere else 🙂
Thanks for this one, love her voice but it was only the extended instrumental I did not yet have!
You’re welcome Martijn van Heeringen 🙂
Thanks for the great 12″, Paul! I most vividly remember this song in the The 1988 Flashback Medley Part 1 by the Ultimix remix service.
This song starts at 4:33…check out the whole mix, folks! It should be on Youtube.
Thanks again, Paul!!
Thank you Fred. Great flashback medley. It´s not a Ben Liebrand Grand Mix but it´s nicely done anyway.
You’re welcome, Fred. Ulyimix did some great Flashback medleys 🙂
