A synthpop classic out of America! So few of those compared to Europe, but classic all the same. 🙂

“No Stars” would be another great one. Not as big a hit, but intended as such, and still a fave of mine.

If continuing with American synthpop, Anything Box and Information Society might deserve another look as well (You covered Book Of Love pretty well so far).

Thanks Paul!

One more comment, Paul.

Ever notice how the last half of the first verse seems more prescient today than ever?

“Well, that’s no space for a human being
That man is not a hero or saint.
When somewhere in deepest America,
Grown men weep at the sound of his name
So it goes, and it goes…”

Paul, you scored another winner with this Detroit/Boston band’s “biggest” hit.

I’ve spent the last few months collecting the band’s output and this one is still my fave track by them. Thanks for the post.

I’ve always loved this song, and this remix in particular, since I first heard it on the radio back in 1989.

Thank you so much for this great post!

YES!!!!!! I’ve been waiting for this. A classic 12-inch. Thanks for posting this gem Paul. Maybe the equally awesome “You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet” maxi is not far behind? 😉

I could just squeal with a passion Paul!!!! Karen and I adore this song and it’s really been years since we’ve heard the 12-inch so a HUGE HUG and THANK YOU from the two of us!!! I love this band and Ivan Ivan as a producer too. Another thing I’m over the moon with about your site, is that you can click on Ivan Ivan and find the other twelves he’s been involved with like Book of Love, etc. I hope one day you’ll post his Innocence In Danger project because, it is, well…….FAB-U-LOUS!!! So much euphoria you put me… Read more »
