Zeus B Held (responsible for production duties) is without a doubt one of the most creative artists/producers of the last fifty years and yet he’s hardly known on the scale of things – I recommend to anyone into experimental dance/electronic music to check his remixes and solo material out via Disocgs.
Great post Paul, the quality as always is exceptional.

OMG Paul you did it!

Thanks so much for posting this.
I bought nearly everything Fashion released in the 80s.

Have a great weekend!

Cheers, John.

Thank you posting Paul!

I was just researching Fabrique the other day…I have a vinyl copy and a compilation CD. I regret getting rid of my cassettes. Fabrique cassette had the album on one side and the other side was mutant mixes. God I miss that cassette.

Anyway…thanks!!!
Jeff

Hello and congratulations for your absolutely fabulous website! I love everything 80’s and especially 12-inch versions. I think it’s really great that you don’t just stick for the best-known songs and I am always looking forward to check your new posts. Fashion is a really interesting band and “Move On” and “Streetplayer (Mechanik)” are my favourites from them. Allow me to suggest some other “obscure” 12-inch that I listen to a lot: The Ward Brothers – Cross That Bridge • Robert Görl – Darling Don’t Leave Me • Swans Way – Soul Train • The Big Supreme – Please Yourself… Read more »

Thx Paul for sharing these killer tracks! Funny to see some Dutch words on the cover (and labels) of this record. On the backcover I read “Platenhoes ontwerp Malcolm & Mulligan voor AI” which means in English “cover design by Malcolm & Mulligan for AI”. Also DE STIJL are Dutch words, translated it means The Style. By the way De Stijl is the name of a Dutch artistic movement from the early 20th century; painter Piet Mondrian (Pieter Mondriaan) was one the most famous members of this movement. The word Gramofoon seems to be Dutch but is in fact misspelled;… Read more »

Gosh Paul, you are certainly a powerhouse!! I love these songs you’re sharing! I have heard of the band, but not so much the music. And I love the fact Zeus B. Held is the one on production duties because I really admire his work. I see you’ve posted another track here on Burning The Ground of which I will download as well. I have realized that there is so much treasure here in your “VAULT!!” I am truly overwhelmed, but in a good way. I can lose myself here for ages discovering new stuff. Incredible and gobsmacking!! You really… Read more »

Fashion should have been big, but never quite got on the right road to mega-fame & fortune.

For awhile it seemed like they were headed for major success. A newly formed Duran Duran was Fashion’s support act for several shows. Fashion also went on to play with The Police, Billy Idol and a then unknown U2 ! We all know what happened to those bands/singers.. but sadly Fashion got left behind despite having talent and imagination by the bucket-load. The music biz is a strange thing for sure.

Thank you Paul for drawing attention to this gem 🙂
