Falco – Junge Roemer (Young Romans) (Specially Remixed Version) (US 12″)

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1984

A. Front

“Junge Roemer (Young Romans)” is a 1984 single by Austrian pop/rock singer Falco. Junge Roemer a slang term popular in early/mid 1980s Germany and Austria, which was the equivalent of the English term, “Yuppie”. Falco popularized the term further with his song by the same name, which glamorized the Junge Roemer lifestyle (Falco counted himself among this group of people).

The song was a hit single in Austria #8 as well as in Switzerland #24, and most notably in Spain, where it peaked at #2. In the United States a set of remixes by John Luango were released on 12″ vinyl. “Junge Roemer (Young Romans)” debuted on the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart on November 3, 1984 peaking at #52 after spending seven weeks on the survey.

thanks paul! a great remix of one of his best songs 🙂
of course it’s a bit of a rip-off of bowie’s “let’s dance” but in a very own and unique way.

Thanks Paul once again . I was never that familiar with Falco’s work except for a few hits. My favorite was Satellite To Satellite .

Thanks DJPaul!

I think that the John Luongo’s remixes are very rare,
and you have posted also the dub version.

if you look for this john luongo remix of falco’s “emotional”, you can find it on CD here:

https://www.discogs.com/Falco-Emotional/release/866517

it includes the continental extended version and the hilarious ‘her side of the story’ mix as well 🙂

Excellent of you to post the John Luongo remix as a follow-up to yesterday’s original version. Again Paul, thank you so much to further the discography of not just our favorite artists, but to our favorite remixers and producers. You have given me, such a fanatic of these studio magicians the perfect place to enjoy so much of their work that sometimes gets overshadowed by the artists they help metamorphosis into club deities. You are an amazing guy with so much talent yourself. I bet, with enough time, you’d be a phenomenal remixer yourself.

Much love and respect!!

Jeff
