The lead singer of this group was quite a songbird, their whole album was pretty durn good. I have the album and it was well worth it. If you get a chance listen to “Wreckless Heart” (last song on the album). Solid gold.

If I recall correctly, Laurie Sargent, the singer, did all the vocals for Diane Lane in “Streets of Fire.” Thanks for posting this classic!
They were several singers but yes Laurie was one of them.

This is one of those records that seemingly erased itself from my memory. I’m playing it now and can see the video in my mind just as clear as if I last saw it yesterday, not 30+years ago. Despite that, I had completely forgotten this song and band. This is one of my favorite reasons for being a regular on your site- you will unearth memories I had no idea were missing at least once or twice a month! Off to YouTube now, to see if my recollection of it is as complete as my brain remembers…

How do you know such things,DjPaulT? This is one of my favorite records from the 80’s and I have so many fond memories of this song and the video as well. I can totally hear Romeo Void in this one, Paul. Such a cool analogy to that wonderful band. And Arthur really did such an exquisite mix too. I love how he uses the glockenspiel in this one. He really must have liked that instrument as he uses that in Springsteen’s “Dancing In The Dark” remix. And in “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” too. He really was such a force in the remix game. I am in my happy place right now!! Paul, just finished listening to this and I am thrilled. I forgot how good the dub version was. The little rhythmic edits and the right kind of vocal manipulations, make this such a treasure. You really pull-out-all-the-stops when you rip your records. Such clarity, such fidelity.
