BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1986
“Something In My House” was the second single taken from Dead Or Alive’s third studio album “Mad, Bad, and Dangerous to Know” released in February 1987 on Epic Records. Continuing their association with the Stock Aitken Waterman production team, “Something In my House” reached #85 on the US Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart and also topped the US Billboard Hot Dance Chart peaking at #3. The song also did well in the UK where it peaked at #12.
This particular US 7″ promo is quite rare. The (SV) [Short Version] is the standard single remix found on most 7″ editions of this title; (LV) [Long Version] is an edit of the album mix found only on this release.

You are so welcome Alexander!
Back Then In The Days, There was Thus Dark 80s/Electro Club I Used to go to once a week,
This Cut was one of the most Played There. brings lots of Nice Memories 🙂
Thank You Very much Paul For Having it here.
Hope You Came Back Refreshed with some new vibes.
btw, sent you a short e-mail to the ONJ contact address.
Cheers~
You’re welcome Dan. I had a nice little break. I got your email about the ONJ track. I’ll see what I can do.
great!!!! and hope you had nice vacations, well could you re-repost Dead or Alive´s stuff, many links are out of service, please thanks. bye
Hi John. Yes i am planning to re-rip some of them 🙂
Thanks for the LV, Paul. Never knew of its existence too. But you being the DOA megafan, would treat us with these surprises!
This in fact is the best chart performing single in the UK from the Mad & Bad era, partly thanks to the weak single sales and lack of new releases in January.
Brand New Lover didn’t even make the Top 30! A crime!
Definate crime! For some reason I always thought these singles were massive hits. Maybe because I loved them so much lol.
A DoA rarity I never knew I needed!
Thank you. 🙂
You’re welcome. My friend 🙂
Just giving this a proper listen now… what a frikkin ace song. (I don’t listen to it that often.)
I think if SAW hadn’t bled this sound to death, the rest of the world would remember DoA so much more positively.
Totally agree!
Thanks Paul. If u can could u also post I’ll Save You All My Kisses.
You’re welcome Omar. I am sure I will post that one eventually 🙂
BTW- the I’d Do Anything video mix is available on the 7″ & 10″ singles as well as the recently released Greatest Hits CD “That’s The Way I Like It: The Best Of Dead Or Alive” (which contains all the 7″ mixes released in the UK, many for the first time on CD!)
The SV is actually NOT identical to the regular 7″ mix released in other countries! The thunderstorm effect that was the introduction to the UK / European / Japanese 7″ singles was edited almost completley out of the US mix. But it was released on the US commercial edition, so it’s not as hard to find as the LV is here.
wow, didn’t know of this one’s existence either, what a treat! thanks again!
You’re welcome Feanor. Enjoy!
Thanks for this! Could you repost the UK 12″ clean and dirty versions? It’s a real head turner.
Hi Jeff. Yeah I am planning to re-rip it with my newer equipment.
Thanks Paul
I always like the arrangement of album version more.
The other early DOA song I love is “I’d do anything”, by any chance you have the version on the music video? 🙂
Victor I have the 12″ and 10″ singles. I know the 12″ doesn’t contain that version but the 10″ might i’ll have to check.
that will be wonderful!! 😉
thanks a lot. we want more DOA’s stuff. you’re the best!!!
Deadoralive75 I have many DOA rarities. They are one of my all-time favorite bands.
me too, i created the french website: http://franck.cnudde.free.fr/doa.fr/accueil.htm
Awesome!!! Thanks so much, didn’t know this existed!!! =)
You’re welcome Marty 🙂 This is one of my favorite DOA singles.
