Dead Or Alive – Come Home With Me Baby (US 12″)

Burning The Ground Exclusive 1989

NEW 2023 Transfer!
NEW Meticulous Audio Restoration!

Technically this is not a re-rip since I have never posted the U.S. 12″ however I did post the U.K. 12″ in August 2014 so this is a new transfer using the U.S. single. I think it turned out beautifully I hope you all enjoy it.

“Come Home With Me Baby” was the second single released in the UK and the first released in the US from the fourth studio album “Nude” by the British band, Dead Or Alive in 1989 on Epic Records. The song had little impact in the UK but was a massive club hit in the US. “Come Home With Me Baby” debuted on the US Billboard Hot Dance Chart on July 8, 1989, after spending nine weeks on the chart the single peaked at #1.

I remember that, when I heard it for the first time, on Rádio Transamerica, I loved the 12″ version! It was very well remixed! I still have the 2014 RIP, I will compare. THANK YOU, PAUL
Sorry about my poor english xD

Burning The Ground is like a treasure trove for DOA 12” singles. I recently purchased their 1985 In Too Deep single in 7” & 12” formats.

Thanks for this gem, Paul 🙂

When I first heard the Deadhouse Dub back in the day, I thought it sounded like Expose. Turned out the remixer was Lewis Martinee, producer of Expose.

Thanks for posting. I first heard this song while hanging out with my first group of gay friends. It was so much fun to hang out with people who shared some of my experiences, and I think I love this song even more because of that! Great memories.

hi paul,

its been awhile since you posted something from
dead or alive. this is a good choice. i had stopped
listening to their music. but i think i came across
a razormaid mix, and then thats how i found it
years later.

i think i had moved onto other groups at that
point, but it was still good to hear them.

i’m glad they still were making music.
the mixes were pretty good too.

thanks for posting it.

I love Dead Or Alive!! And this is one of my favorites out of their catalog!! It definitely has an Electro feel to it. In the NYC area, at the time, Latin Hip Hop (Freestyle) was HUGE!!! I loved how Dead Or Alive embraced this style. There are shades of Shannon’s “Give Me Tonight”, “Crash Goes Love” by Loleatta Holloway and Pet Shop Boys’ “Opportunities (Latin Rascals’ Mix)” in the mix. Hey, even Lewis A. Martinee is involved, and he collaborated with the Pet Shop Boys too! I love this stuff Paul, and this is an awesome single to start… Read more »
