Happy new year Jeff! I always like to read your comments.
A masterpiece of audio construction. Thank you.
Thank you, John 🙂
Finally, finally, finallly the long versions got the proper transfer and restoration treatment. Thank you Paul, Thank You.
You’re welcome, Jas 🙂
Wow. I don’t know why this track was not on my radar in ’87. Thanks for the amazing 12″ – the mixes are superb and, as always, the rip is incredible. Thank you for this, and wishing you a very happy new year.
You’re welcome MusicMan3. Happy Bew Year 🙂
Another great post Paul, The Breakfast Club “Right On Track” a very cool track and very similar vibe to a lot of tracks played in the UK around 1987, maybe because of John “Jellybean” Benitez. This was their biggest hit.
Have you got the following tracks please:
VISAGE – Mind Of A Toy 12″
VISAGE – Der Amboss 12″
Hi John,
Pretty sure I have posted “Mind Of A Toy” in the past I do not have the other one though.
Hi Paul…The only Visage posts I can see on BTG is the following:
Visage – Fade To Grey (Germany 12″)
Visage – The Damned Don’t Cry (UK 12″)
Visage – Visage (UK 12″)
Visage – Night Train (US 12″ Promo)
Visage – Love Glove (US 12″ Promo)
Visage – Pleasure Boys (UK 12″)
I do have these on various CD’s, but I prefer your Vinyl collection as they sound better.
You are correct, John. According to my Discogs page, I have “Mind Of A Toy” in my collection I guess I just never posted it. Once I locate the record I will try to post it.
Thank You Paul, love the Visage records.
Thanks for the awesome rip, Paul! Sooooo many legends on the credits of this 12″ (and the band)! I loved this 12″ back in the day. Could I make 1 request: Gwen Guthrie – Ain’t Nothin’ Goin’ On But The Rent pretty please. Happy New Year and hope you are loving your new turntable and stylus!
Happy New Year, Fred. I will do my best to get Gwen Guthrie posted. That one has several mixes so I will probably have to work on it in pieces and then post it.
This is a real treat for us Paul. I know you’ve ripped the 7-inch before, but this is the fully loaded 12-inch with its numerous mixes. One has to give you kudos and tons of gratitude for all the hard work you put into these rips. People should know that you spend hours, if not days working on certain records, especially those that have lots of versions. Even though a 12-inch might be near mint, of which you do use, sometimes the pressing can be lacking. Also, the painstaking effort you do to remove the pops and clicks within the… Read more »
I second that. Thank you Paul for the painstaking care you put into your rips and for taking good care of us, your loyal followers! Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year Retro Hound 🙂
Thank you, Jeff I did have to work on this 12″ over several days I am finally glad to have it posted 🙂
You really are a miracle, Paul!! I’m so happy people are loving this and that they appreciate all the time and trouble it takes. And the discussion here is great. Kind of like the old days when people left more comments.
Jeff
… many many thanks!
You’re welcome 🙂
Love this group. Totally underrated. Please do the obscure Rico Mambo US 12″ next. Thanks and Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Gilbert.
Great track! If I remember correctly Madonna was in this band before her solo career and before they were signed to a record deal. Stephen also working with Madonna on numerous songs in the 80’s!
thanks!
Breakfast Club will always have a place in history as the band that featured two of Madonna’s ex-boyfriends — drummer Stephen Bray and singer Dan Gilroy — as well as Madonna herself. Not to mention remixer Jellybean who also dated Madonna.
