Many thanks for the “LIve My Life” 12″ !!! Great work
Wow! Much sought after mixes can’t wait to hear in 24bit. Many thanks 🙂 🙂
You’re welcome Simon 🙂
Holy crap!!! 🙂
One of many great Boy George tracks. Always a big favourite of mine… love the lyrics.
After having gave these tracks a listen, I’m surprised to find Soul Remix is longer than on my Australian 12″… I never realised mine was an edit version. Also once again Paul, the clarity and crispness in your rips are phenom 🙂 Great work
Thank you Ray!!
The video wasn’t even MADE until after it fell out of the US charts. The video was made for the UK promotion, that happened months after it was released in America. There was a collection of clips from the movie set to the music that was shown on BET maybe all of one time while this was in the US charts, probably as an afterthought by someone at the record company (or maybe even the movie studio). Just another mistake in the long list of mistakes made by record executives!
Maybe the clip being shown on BET is why the song charted higher on the R&B chart that the top 40.
DjPAULT!!!!
Man, thanks for unearthing this gem. You already know how much I LOVE John Robie, but I wasn’t aware of this 12-inch. So happy to have it now courtesy of your phenomenal generosity! I love Mark S. Berry too and now you’re adding to his discography as well. Mark brought us the talented Alisha with “All Night Passion” and “Baby Talk” and “Too Turned On” and “Star Gazing.” He’s a brilliant producer/engineer and remixer. BTG once again delivers my faves!!!
Jeff
Thanks Jeff! Glad I had this one to offer 🙂
Should’ve been a bigger hit. A movie backing. Written by Allee “What Have I Done To Deserve This” Willis and Danny “Neutron Dance” Sembello. Produced by John Robie and remixes by Mark S Berry. Such a winning formula that didn’t pan out as planned. I have the UK 12″ but much thanks for your US vinyl rip, Paul! Hiding Out has an excellent soundtrack. Besides, Pretty Poison and Boy George, there’s also the sublime duet of Crying by kd Lang and Roy Orbison. Not forgetting the synth-pop bliss of Scarlett & Black’s You Don’t Know. There are numerous UK and… Read more »
You’re welcome Ric. It is a mystery why this wasn’t bigger all the right ingredients and even a fun music video. Pretty sure I have a sealed copy of the US 12″ Scarlett & Black’s You Don’t Know 🙂
I forgot all about this one. Thanks for a cool trip down memory lane.
You’re welcome VanceMan 🙂
Thank you so much for doing this, so quickly after I suggeted it, too!
You’re very welcome David 🙂
Paul!!! OMG – I have sought a quality rip of these dubs for forever! Thanks so much!
You’re welcome Marty 🙂
Love Boy George & Culture Club. Not familiar with this remixes, however. Have to listen tonight. Thanks for this post Paul!
You’re welcome Gilbert 🙂
Wow, this is a new one on me, never even heard of it before. Thank you.
What does ‘near mint (company)’ mean, BTW?
Hi Jermajesty “Near Mint (Company)” just means the record comes in a near mint record company sleeve. Hope you like the track 🙂
i love Boy George. Paul do you have the 7″ mix of White Boy as well ? Thanks
No sorry I don’t Omar.
