Thanks so much for this rip, Paul!!! It is one of my favorite songs from the 80s and the instrumental is fantastic. The song (and all the mixes) is/was one of the first songs I heard sampling (do you know the sample? 🙂 ) Remember that his Suddenly album was August late 1983 up till March 1984.

Thanks again, Paul! I greatly appreciate it!

As NKelly said, great song and timeless. Also available as African Queen. It was played up and down from dusk till dawn back then until I got fed up with it for years. But a great song stays a great song and I still love it.

Great song also sung as ‘European Queen’ in some territories of course. Many thanks for this. Love Billy and he’s still great in the live environment. Saw him at the UK’s Rewind festival, Henley, a number of times in recent years!

Thank you so much for posting this!!!!

In July 2016, when Celine Dion came on Jimmy Fallon to promote “One More Night”, The Roots played “Caribbean Queen” as “Canadian Queen”…and also changed the lyrics to be “Canadian Queen, her name is Celine”!

That would be a great post, Paul! I must’ve heard of it also being ‘African Queen’ but subsequently forgot!
