Big Country – Look Away (12″ Mix) (Netherlands 12″)

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1986

“Look Away” is a song by Scottish rock band Big Country. It was released in April 1986 as the lead single from their third studio album, The Seer. It gave the group their fourth UK top 10 hit, and proved to be their highest charting single in the UK Singles Chart, peaking at No. 7.

“Look Away” was an even bigger success in Ireland, topping the Irish Singles Chart for one week, and becoming the band’s only number one single on either side of the Irish Sea.

“Restless Natives” is the theme song for the 1985 comedy film directed by Michael Hoffman and starring Vincent Friell, Joe Mullaney, and Ned Beatty.

thanks for posting from one of my favorite bands.

there was another remix of this also,
but big country was one of the few rock bands that
did remixes (like simple minds or u2)..

so it’s good to see them represented here.

still sad about the lead singer pass away.
that makes me sad.

but the music lives on.

I love this band and I think this was probably my favourite single by them.

Thanks a lot Paul 🙂

Big thanks for this Paul. Regarding Dirk’s comment above about the cover shot being full of innuendo, handsfull etc. I don’t know about that fella, to me they just look bloody cold! lol

Came back to second-look.. Understand the confusion. Innuendo isn’t the right word.
But..nope, I can not unsee it.
Man, it’s fun to have a sick mind 😉

As you know Paul, I can’t contain myself when it comes to the rock 12-inch. I am super-excited over this. I love all your work on these records. You make the sound explode out the speakers. This is gonna be great. Thanks so very much for Big Country and all. I was just thinking of them this morning in the car to work and low-and-behold, here you go posting it. I love how you can read minds, musically. Just awesome.

Thanks Paul, great one. Big memories of a long forgotten summer of festivals and partying in the 80’s 😉
And no, or well, yes, no, yes, I don’t mind great cover shots. This one is full of innuendo, handsfull.
