BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1986
“Samples!” was a second 12″ released for the song “Sample That!” by Chicago based project Bang Orchestra!. This 12″ also features new remixes by Ralphi Rosario. The single debuted on the US Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart on August 23, 1986 spending twelve weeks on the chart peaking at #5.
After the single’s release Geffen Records thought Bang`s sounds were too underground to release on an album, so the band ended up recording independent singles for Trax Records. Band founders Vince Lawrence and Evie formed the production company J.X. Bang and concentrated more on producing other artists, they quit making Bang Orchestra records in late 1987.

Totally new to me – thanks!
Thanks for posting both of these, Paul! I had looked at my own vinyl versions many times and wanted to post them, but never got around to doing so. Thanks again!
Thank you again Paul, these have never sounded better!!
You’re very welcome Wayne 🙂
I was hoping you might post the follow-up.
Thanks very much Paul 🙂
You’re welcome Junior 🙂
Man Paul, I can always depend on you for presenting to your loyal followers a band’s full discography. Interesting, I just realized that this is indeed the version I have in my personal collection. I actually like yesterday’s (original) version much better, but I am still looking forward to this mix. Plus, like we both agree, that graphic is extra special. I really have a thing for anvils and I guess it always makes me think about Visage’s “The Anvil” and all the imagery that song creates. The hammers and the figures, muscles, leather, that whole Industrial music movement of… Read more »
You’re welcome Jeff. I love it when you ramble 🙂 You have such great taste and music insight. I was never brave enough for a tatoo but always wanted one. I was into the industrial movement for a bit but never fully embraced it so there is not much in my collection. I hope that more of my readers embrace these tracks 🙂
