Hey Paul,
I missed out on a lot of the dance music in 86, working for an air line I worked in Kansas City and lived in St. Louis. I had not heard this song before but it reminds me of early Depeche Mode like 83’s Work Hard [East End Remix].
Thanks. 🙂

Just incredible Paul! All those memories came flooding back. I love how alternative/rock sounding this is. And that Frankie sounding pelvic-thrusting bass line is killer. And I love the sound of breaking glass used as a percussive element. Takes me back to John Robie’s studio band C-Bank and their “One More Shot” song. This is so cool. Even their logo is wicked as well. Thanks again for this Paul, it’s an awesome way to start the week.

I love “House” music, never heard this before, that aside it does sound “Art Of Noise” like (or is that me?).

Noticeably absent from the big House release of 1989 – The History Of The House Sound Of Chicago, but then only commercial records sell!

Another great choice Paul.. 🙂

I have to say, I have never heard *of* this song and the mid 80s was “my time” for collecting 12″s and finding/hearing all sorts of remixes. I lived in CT so maybe it wasn’t a big market for this kind of song…but never have I heard this song either…not any radio station mix shows or clubs I visited even in the late 80s. For it to be #5 on Billboard must be a typo. http://www.billboard.com/archive/charts/1985/dance-club-play-songs doesn’t even list it (nor does year 1986). Not trying to rain on a parade…I just find the info of this song to be… Read more »

Paul!! You really surprise me. This is just so cool. Because of you, I’ve been looking through my old twelves as of late, and I came across this single. I thought to myself, “Does Paul know this song?” Well, you can imagine my delight on seeing it on your page! It’s been so long since I’ve heard this, but I really remember LOVING IT at the time. I was so obsessed with sampling back then, so when a song cam out with “sample” in its title, I purchased it without even hearing the record. This is a special memory brought… Read more »
