April Fundraiser!

Hi everyone,

It is April! and time for our first fundraiser of 2022 For those that are new to the BTG community, we have a fundraiser every six months to keep funds in the Burning The Ground PayPal account to go towards site hosting, website security, monitoring, & protection, buying records that are requested, and to maintain my equipment. This year the cost of Hosting and security monitoring have both increased. Site hosting went from $190.00 every two years to $205.00, and security monitoring went from $199.00 yearly to $215.00, not a huge increase but it adds up. These increases are the reason I stopped paying $40.00 monthly to pay for 24bit Flac hosting on Mega.

As always our goal is to reach $1000.00 which I know we will meet without any doubt.

I do realize that we are living in a difficult time so any amount that you can chip in will be very helpful. I also understand completely if you can’t give anything right now.

All you have to do to make your donation is click on one of the yellow donate buttons anywhere on the site. I use PayPal. It’s safe and secure, and you don’t need an account to make your contribution.

Thank you so much for your help.

Nina Hagen – Universal radio (US 12″)

Burning The Ground Exclusivev1985

“Universal Radio” is a song by German singer Nina Hagen from her third studio album Nina Hagen in Ekstasy (1985). It was released as the lead single from the album in January 1985 by Columbia Records. Written by Ron Dumas and produced by Adam Kidron, “Universal Radio” became successful in the US charts, peaking at number 39 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs. It was premiered by Rodney Bingenheimer on the radio station KROQ Los Angelas. “Universelles Radio”, the German version of the song was also released.

The music video for the song featured footage of her performance at the Rock in Rio festival from January 13, 1985.

Hagen worked with Ron Dumas, who had previously recorded the song in 1983 with his band Ron Dumas Group. She later described the song as not being musically very interesting and that she originally wanted to do her vocals differently, but was directed by the recording company to make the record more “commercial”.

**Please note the noise at the start of the Album version is supposed to be there.
