Alisha – All Night Passion (US 12″)

BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1984

Side One

“All Night Passion” is the debut single by American singer Alisha. It was released from the self-titled album “Alisha” in the United States in 1984.

When Alisha was 14, she joined a local rock/dance group The Babysitters. Her parents arranged for her to record a demo tape with them, and her family sent the tape to several record companies. It eventually made its way to producer Mark S. Berry through Vanguard Records. Berry had been looking for a singer with a great voice to record “All Night Passion”. The song was recorded in the summer of 1983, but didn’t start getting airplay until February of 1984. The song became very successful in the clubs, eventually leading Alisha to sign with Vanguard Records in 1984 for a full-length album, which Berry went on to produce.

Great post! Now only missing the ‘new version’ which is by far the best version of this song.

This mix is not the bonus track on the album, the one called “Special album remix”?

My favorite Alisha single along with “Into My secret”, but I like this one more for the Rick Tarbox production, reminds me of the sound in Aida’s singles from around the same time. Thanks for this high quality rip.

Paul!! Thank you so much for starting my week off right!! I had a terrible Monday, but this makes up for it and then some. I am rejoicing for this song. Heck, I love Alisha’s discography, but this song is very special to me because it’s what introduced her to my ears. You are such a fabulous guy for this gift. I am relishing all these single. Now I can create her debut album, but with your rips which include the other “lost” versions. I am so elated for all you did. WOW!!! You’re like this celebrity DJ showering the… Read more »

Yes Paul, I fully agree with you. “All Night Passion” is glorious and that dub, phew!! I can imagine hearing this in a big room with a monumental audio system. I find it all euphoric. My mood has totally changed and dopamine is flooding my body from your rip!! You should check out someday her other singles: “Into My Secret” has wild edits by Omar Santana within its grooves; “Let Your Heart Make Up Your Mind” which has crazy edits by Carlos Berrios; and then a pop favorite, called “Bounce Back” which is a lot of fun. Thanks again for… Read more »
