excellent choice & thanks for the 24 bit
Paul, I love ABC, and have all their releases. This American release was a very basic remix, with more of a funky slowed down beat compared to the original. The US seemed to get different mixes for some singles by groups, because the UK versions used to be different. It drove collectors crazy, because they would have to get the imports also. There would be different tracks, and different covers too. For me, the UK Mendelsohn mix was so much better than this version, and never got released over here, and it had a cool b-side called judy’s jewels. Yes,… Read more »
That’s interesting, what was the track listing?

Thanks so much for this! Great rip as always, anything ABC is welcome 🙂 PS i’m trying for years already to get a proper quality version of Barbara Mason’s ‘Another Man’ . Even going through tons of cd compilations couldn’t get me happy. …you wouldn’t happen to own a copy of… or…maybe?? 🙂 Best, Frank
Hi Frank, pretty sure I have that one it’s on Streetwise Records I believe so that may explain the quality issue. From my experience, Streetwise records are not mastered that well. I will dig my copy out and see if it is worthy of posting.
awesome Paul! Please check current version(s) available, i’m pretty sure yours will sound MUCH better. (original master has disappeared, all cd releases are ripped from vinyl including pops and klicks done with average equipment) Whether it’s Grand 12 Inches 8 cd box or itunes/spotify etc. By the way its West End records. Have a great weekend!
Frank,
Ben Liebrand has released this in master quality on his Grand 12 Inches compilation.

Hi Donovan, sorry didn’t see you’re reply until now. I’m afraid Liebrand’s version has same bad quality as many other comps. There’s just not a proper master and nobody seems to have tried to get a better vinyl rip, hope this will change soon 😉
I love this! Thank you.
Thank you Conner 🙂
Thanks Paul. Would love some more ABC. Do you have the King Without A Crown (Mendelsohn Mix)?
I will check Omar.
Bless your soul Paul!! I have been waiting for so long to get this flip-side of the “ABC Megamix”!! I think I have the 12-inch, but not this excellent picture sleeve. Ooh, I’m excited!!! You are a music miracle worker Paul. All the goodies you provide us. Like yesterday’s 12-inch, in that it has the special song not available on the US version. I love these bonus things you bring us. And -1s comment from yesterday stating that your rip of “True Dub” is even better than the Blank & Jones’ recent So80s release of it. You deserve these compliments… Read more »
You’re welcome, Jeff. This picture sleeve edition seems pretty hard to find as it was limited I think. I appreciate all of the praise and comments. I love you guys so much.
My copy is in a diecut sleeve with a sticker, if I remember rightly. Thanks, as always, for the rip, Paul.
+1
Sandra – ITHOTN (1985) sounds better at Paul’s. 🙂
