Fascinating! Never heard this 12″ version before… I bought the 7″ single back in the day and never imagined it could be remixed. Very nice
I am happy you like it, Eric 🙂
Great to have these in HQ audio. I saw them live a couple of times here in the UK, once supporting Sigue Sigue Sputnik. If you have any other Westworld to post, that would be fantastic.
I will see what I can do, Jason. I think I have one other single.
I remember this one from the various radio stations here in the UK, as you mention it reached number 11 so it was played quite a lot.
These remixes are new to me however.
Thanks Paul 🙂
You’re welcome, Marco 🙂
I absolutely love this! I’m so glad you decided to share the remixes for this excellent song. Reminds me of B-52s, Bow Wow Wow, The Clash, Haysi Fantayzee, Violent Femmes, etc. THANK YOU for another amazing selection!
You’re welcome, Martika 🙂
They kind of sound like a second-rate Haysi Fantayzee
I can see that 🙂
I have this CD and it’s pretty good however I believe that this group could have been much bigger if label had released the song “Painkiller” has a single. It was a minor hit in the SF bay area thanks to the DJ Steve Masters and Live 105 radio. He even released a V/A CD with many underground alt tracks including this one.
Thanks for sharing the music video because I had not seen it before and the US 12″ single.
You’re welcome 🙂
Thanks for the treat, Paul! I have never heard of this song before but it’s pretty darn catchy! Have a great day!
You’re welcome, Fred. Have a great day 🙂
Happy October, Paul and BTG community!! Man, this is a great record, Paul!! Totally new to me, but I’m loving every minute of it. I relish records that are quirky and off the beaten path!! I so love music like this, especially when they’re introduced by you, Paul!! I am so ready for Spooky Season because you’ve got the best tricks and treats instore for us!!
I love the music video too and the playful animation!! Absolutely loving this!! A new favorite!!!
Grateful!!!!!!!!
Jeff
Happy October! Jeff, I am super excited that you liked this one. I remember dancing to it in a club in 88 called The Max it was a floor filler. I always thought it went higher on the dance chart though.
Hi Paul, Hope you’re keeping well. I Loved this song when it came out, very catchy and loved the video too, there next song was called “Ba-Na-Na-Bam-Boo”.Their guitarist was from Generation X. Can you please upload INXS “Need You Tonight” mendelson mix, this is my favourite mix of it. I was never a fan of the Ben Liebrand mix.
The Mendelson mix has been released on countless INXS and 80s compilations if you don’t want to wait for Paul. There was a FANTASTIC remix of Need You Tonight in 1987 that I’ve never been able to track down…it was either a remix service or a radio station that did it. I truly wish I still had the recording on an old cassette that I could upload somewhere.
It has been released on CD, but if you’re like me, you might prefer to listen to it on vinyl. I’ll need to purchase a copy since it’s not currently in my collection.
OK Thank You Paul.
