I’ve never heard the Side B version. Years ago I purchased the soundtrack and imo it’s an absolute gem; I can never hear it enough.
Thanks for including this 12″ rip!

I don’t suppose you have the 12″ of Don’t be my Enemy. It has a 3:38 remix of the track which I suspect could be the mix used on the music video which has a different intro.

Hi Paul,

I’m not sure if my comment in the other Wang Chung post counts as a request. But here it
is, this was the song and single that I mentioned. So that’s a first.

Thanks for highlighting the unusual and rare singles from groups, including
the early version of ‘dance hall days’ from Huang Chung.

The only other rare songs from this group are some promo edits, and some other
7″ edits, besides the 12 inch mixes, which you seem to be going through.

Keep up the excellent, work, and looking forward to what is coming up.

Excellent, one of their best, this single was my invitation to watch the movie (To Live and die in LA)and to get the album.

The B side is very nice, So eighties with electronic sound. 🙂

Thanks, DJPaul for sharing this with us.

Amazing, yet more Wang Chung goodness to enjoy. This, and the Live And Die In LA soundtrack in general, are so underrated. I didn’t even know WUSD had a single release anywhere, or different mixes existed! I’ve been listening to a lot of Wang Chung lately, as well as just discovering his 1995 project with Tony Banks (as Strictly Inc) which blew my mind.

Thanks again!

My pleasure, it’s a brilliant album…like the best of Wang Chung and (80s) Genesis combined. I actually spent 20 years trying to find a Wang Chung song called “17”, not realising Jack Hues had teamed up with someone else in the 90s!

Thank you Paul for all your uploads and especially for this Wang Chung series !
I hope others will come. I’m waiting in particular for “There Is A Nation” the B-Side of “Dance Hall Days” (2nd version on Geffen Records).

Haven´t heard that one in ages. I was very surprised just now that WUSD has an entry in my list of twelve inches, and yes, I really own a copy. Who´d have guessed 🙂 It has a sticker from a sale in the Netherlands and I obviously spent 1 Dutch guilder on it. Back then about 0,5 Deutschmarks and 0,25 Eurocent in today´s money. As you probably know (uhm… 🙂 ) the Netherlands is our western neighbour. I live only 20 miles from the “border” (which we do not have anymore). Oh, I´m rambling. Great choice, Paul. Love the 12inch,… Read more »

Again,it feels like Christmas!! Paul, I love when Wang Chung appears on your page. You keep introducing me to things I wasn’t aware of. You are such a darling to bring our favorites back from oblivion. And like all your posts, they will surely bring us much happiness, light and love. I miss you so very much, at least I can see what’s happening on Burning The Ground when I’m away from home.

All the very best!

Jeff

This is one of my own more-prized WC releases. A great track that should’ve been a single elsewhere as well. I sometimes imagine if it was a single in the USA if we would have gotten a few more remixes.

Thanks Paul!
