“L.O.V.E.” is the second single by American singer Tyka Nelson. Nelson’s main claim to fame thus far has been that she is the sister of Prince. According to Tyka, Prince offered her use of his Paisley Park studios and money to fund an album, but she wanted to get a contract on her own. It took her quite a few years, after going to college and having two kids, but she finally signed a deal with Chrysalis/Cooltempo Records in 1988.

“L.O.V.E.” was produced in part by Prince collaborator David Z and went mostly unnoticed prompting the label to drop Tyka soon after.

Thanks Paul for this re-rip!
Another Shep Pettibone remix in your quality sound!
(24bit Flac for the very first time)

Any chance to have Jill Jones “Mia bocca” A.Baker remix?

Respect.

Funny – I had never heard the full version of the song. I only knew it from the
Ben Liebrand Grand Mix ´88.

It´s nice, though. Not great (imho), but nice.

Thank you, Paul.

I can just tell this is going to be good Paul. Very interesting information about this song and of course, Shep Pettibone is involved with the remix with Steve Peck as its engineer. Thank you for re-posting this one as it’s really new to me and I ADORE and RESPECT your varied musical tastes. You are such a beacon of light when it comes to vintage and forgotten dance music. You really are the patron saint of missing and lost twelves from years past. If I was an artist and found out that you “rescued” my music, I would feel… Read more »
