One of my favorites. I’ve always lamented the fact that this wasn’t a much bigger hit. Thanks for this fantastic rip.

Ooo la la! Such a sensual treat. Thanks for a DJ Paul T trademark rip!!! I must admit when I first heard the original version on AT40, I wasn’t impressed that it was chosen as the second single. Like Paul said, it seemed too much like a “non-event”. But when I tested the 12″ single at the record shop, it sent chills down my spine. Martyn Ware worked well with Tina on her comeback hit, and weaved his New Wave spell on this production too. This remix really stands the test of time, and would fit in perfectly on any… Read more »

Another big thank you, Paul! These Tina 12″ mixes are really making my day. Even now, 25 years later, I’m STILL upset that this song didn’t get higher than #30. What an injustice!

That’s my man! Thank you Paul. What a great mix, always loved it. Nice to have that dub too in best quality.

Ben Liebrand did a very interesting mix, really different with a soring sax solo. Loved that version too.

Hi Paul, it has been released on a rare vinyl Dutch promo 7 inch (single sided at 33 ⅓ rpm). A limited one track CD single with that Liebrand mix was issued as a bonus to the early Dutch CD pressing of ‘Live in Europe’. Ben made the mix specially for a Dutch radio show in which he had somewhat 10 minutes of airtime (at 22:10 hours every Friday night) for playing a new ‘minimix’. These mixes were legendary masterpieces. Some ‘minimixes’ were tracked by record companies for a commercial release. Many from EMI (Tavares, Grace Jones and this one),… Read more »

I have a low quality rip of the Tender Mix; I think it is better than the standard remix. I agree that Ben Liebrand did some great remixes; my two favorites are INXS “Need You Tonight” and Blondie “Call Me.”

Oh my! Ben Liebrand…where do we start?!?
First got to know him through his ’83 remix for Forrest’s Rock The Boat. My favourite mixes of his include Alexander O’Neal’s Criticize, Bill Withers’ Lovely Day, Taja Sevelle’s Love Is Contagious, InXS’ Need you Tonight (2 mixes he did) Hall & Oates’ I Can’t Go For That (2 mixes he did) and Grace Jones’ Victor Should Have Been a Jazz Musician.
Oh yes, and his Tina remix of course!

Not to forget his remixes of Alexander O’Neal/What can I say to make you love me and Janet Jackson/Let’s wait awhile and Luther Vandross/Never too much. You can spend a day writing them all down….

Brilliant! Thanks for this one Paul! Lovin the Tina…

Speaking of which – any chance you could re-post Tina’s ‘Whatever You Want’ – you had it on your old blogger site I think? A Flac copy of that would be awesome!

Keep up the great work.
