Such an awesome 12″ Paul, even here in Mexico my vinyl copy has a dub version of 6:58 min, with an alternative-percussion mix.

Do you have the Bush Baby 7″ remix version? Only a few rare copies were released.

Thanks for sharing!

I have Bush Baby Australian 7inch.

I’m not sure if it’s particularly rare or not.

The Bush Baby 7″ remix was not that rare, and it was released as an official 7″ single. But it was at random, mixed with the 7″ single edit. I have both 7″ singles, but I do know that others have posted download links on facebook, I think on TT Forever site.

Pure class!

This was the first CD single I ever bought!

The Close To The Bone tour was awesome. I was lucky to be front row.

Great memories.

🙂

I was also very lucky to meet Tom and Alannah backstage. They autographed my tour programme while my brother took photos. The programme was the same as the Future Days tour as no new merchandise was created for the Close To The Bone tour.

Alannah also gave me her drum stick.

Happy days!

🙂

I remember going into the record shop to buy this on twelve inch… I don’t know which was the bigger shock – no Joe Leeway or no TT logo!!!
This single (the best off the album) marked the end-of-an-era for me regarding the Twins – I still bought their records, but Quick Step/Gap/Future Days were the halcyon days of the Thompson Twins for me!

Some serious TT fans here Paul. I love to read the expressions of true fans. Thank you for posting this too as I’m trying to fill in my “gaps” within my collection. And what better way to do this than with your expertise and mighty skill Paul. We can always count on you to do a release right with your respectful treatment.

I dreamed of Burning The Ground last night Paul. It was very cool. Thank you for filling my days and nights, my conscious and unconscious worlds with your music.

Jeff

This was not well-received, but I loved it at the time, and Close To The Bone too. The B-Side track on this was one of my favorite album tracks from it as well. 🙂 It’s very bittersweet knowing it was the final straw with Arista. There’s an underlying darker theme in Here’s To Future Days as compared to the more joyful Into The Gap, and that really comes to fruition in Close To The Bone. Listening to the later Big Trash and Queer albums, you feel they closed a door that would never be reopened again. That was even left… Read more »

Thanks Paul. It wasn’t a hit for TT but it’s a really good song. I also like the production work of Rupert Hine.

Loved this since release. They showed the video here in the UK on a Saturday morning BBC TV show. Do you have any more Thompson Twins that you could post after this ‘Week of love’? It would be wonderful to finally have everything that you have. I’d love to burn a definite BTG TT CD!!! I’ve just done a huge project which i finished last week on TT, an A-Z of songs including all the formats they appeared on with versions included on a Word doc. Great timing from you once again. Many thanks!

Did that a while ago and made a collection for my NAS with every version I could find of every song in best quality available. That’s perfectly normal, isn’t it? %-)

Yes, there are quite a few of Paul’s rips in there of course. 🙂

Thanks again, Paul. I <3 <3 <3 <3 Thompson Twins.

Thankyou Paul. I liked their album Close To The Bone even though it wasn’t a hit like the previous ones.

One of their many singles that didn´t even chart over here in Germany. Shame, really. It´s a solid song. Not great, but certainly good enough. And again, a surprise for me: I only got to know Get That Love when I bought the “Greatest Remixes” cd years ago. And low and behold – the 12inch version on that cd obviously was edited down to 4:56. I HATE when they do that! It´s like an abridged novel or showing only two thirds of the Mona Lisa painting 🙂
