Hello and good day,
would it be possible to upload this maxi single again?
Unfortunately the link leads nowhere.
Kind regards from Germany,
Detlef
Hi Paul, I discovered there are two scans of side a included. I guess it’s like that on the vinyl, but maybe it’s just a little mistake by you.
Greets and thanks again. Unluckily I have hardly time to stop by these days.
ps. just seen: If you take a closse look at the cover scans on Discogs, you can see there should be a side b sticker.
I’ve got this track but I must check this release anyway, Bobby “O” productions could hide a different mix/edit under the same name. The “phone” label is beautiful, thanks Paul for such a great post.
Both versions have been mixed by “The Magnificent Kordak”, who also remixed one of the early versions of Pet Shop Boys’ “One More Chance”, at the time they were working with Bobby “O”.
I always thought they were Europeans.
I can’t believe it! I’ve been singing it to myself earlier today!
Thank you Paul! You’re a genius!
Another gem Paul!! Be still my heart!! I love this record and I’m so happy it has a place on your website. I also dig that rotary dial phone label! Lately, I’ve been nostalgically thinking of old phone technology! And, I know you’ll know this too, but I keep thinking of the PHENOMENAL Razormaid! remix of Madonna’s “I’m Following You” with the sample: “Put your finger in the hole and make tiny little circles.” Wow, that was random!! It’s just that all of the music you post makes me think of so many other musical thoughts and ideas. Getting back… Read more »
Had to drop-in again to add to my comment here. I really love this track. It has really been ages since I’ve heard this one and it is….OUTSTANDING!! That Bobby Orlando, he really could take elements of past dance tunes to make new ones. I kept hearing “Hi-Energy” by Evelyn Thomas in that keyboard riff. Karen thinks she hears a bit of Laura Branigan’s “Self Control” in some odd way. Me too, but it is bizarre! And, as you know me Paul, I love edits, and the little bit of edits at the one part were intriguing. Very different. You… Read more »
As my Spanish is even worse than my English I will remain using the latter 😉 That single obviously was buried very very deep in my mind as I do not recall it in any way. Never mind, it´s awesome. HI-NRG can never go wrong. The melody at about 3:30 of the singles version is identical to Fancy´s Slice Me Nice and the chorus with the second voice reminds of our very own “Modern Talking”. Btw, were Modern Talking in anyway succesful in America? I must admit, I LOVED “You´re My Heart, You´re My Soul”. The several singles after that… Read more »
I always think it’s a special occasion on Burning The Ground whenever you drop by to comment Song And Dance. I’m so happy that you like Hi-NRG. It has always been a favorite genre of mine and I’m pleased that there are others, like yourself and our dear Paul that has a passion for this kind of dance music. Have a wonderful weekend Song And Dance.
Jeff
Yes and in the same way Divine’s “Love Reaction” looks like New Order’s “Blue Monday”!;-)
