The Earons are a self-described “astro-funk” band from “Earon Earth.” They were inspired by the cosmic mythology of Sun Ra with a bit of Anthony Braxton’s mathematica.

Group members use the following stage names: .28 (a.k.a. Henry Pizzicarola, vocals), .22 (Percival Prince, guitar), .33 (Kevin Nance, keyboards), .69 (Melvin Lee, bass) and .18 (Lonnie Ferguson, drums). In 1984 they topped the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart with “Land of Hunger.” To date, they have only released one album, “Hear on Earth”, on LP and cassette (it has never been released on CD).

Thanks for another rerip Paul!
Meticulous is definitely one of the many positives to describe you Paul. Such a passionate perfectionist!
As for this single, I’m quite surprised it went all the way to #1 on the Club Play charts, but was just as surprised it failed to crack the Hot 100!!!

This song came to mind after yesterday’s Europeans post. I even woke up this morning with the chorus stuck in my head. Did you have the same feeling, Paul? Interesting coincidence! Thanks!

Their other stuff is pretty darn cool too, e.g. “Standing Room Only”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gXGjW9OIAo

Do you have the long-unavailable album?

Paul, I’ve gotta tell you, I’m still on a high after yesterday’s post!!! The high is till going because of this re-rip. I have always liked this song, but I am really looking forward to the flip-side. Thanks for looking at your “back-catalog” of songs and brining them back. Very much appreciated.

Jeff
