I’ve always had a preference for the darker side of the 80s and this band has always been one of my favorite Darkwave bands. THANK YOU very much for this amazing 12″, Paul!

Yay! 🙂 I have always preferred melancholic songs, but I think “People Are People” was a real game changer for me that prompted me to seek out darker electronic music.

Great left field choice! I’m not familiar with this, and admittedly it’s not in my canon, so to speak (which surprises no one), but love the atmosphere and shimmering synths! And it’s nice to see it reached #38 on the Billboard Dance/Club Songs chart. So much variety then to keep people’s feet moving on the dance floors. Thank you Paul!!

Thanks for this transfer! This is one of my fave 80’s cuts I used to love to put on mixtapes because no one else knew it! I thought I had the 12” but this cover art isn’t familiar to me so maybe I just have the album! Going to go digging now to see! Thanks again!

Dig I did! I have the album and the 12” for Hold On, which has a remix of Heaven is Waiting on it, so my personal mystery is solved! So this means this version is new to me! 😎

Chills again!! I had this record once and I so remember buying it because of the cover art. It turned out to be a fantastic purchase because of the song itself. I love the gothic and new wave sounds on the 12-inch. Arista records was such a great label back then with the artists on their roster, including Ministry, Pete Shelley, and my cult favorite, Shriekback. I am so delighted, Paul, to have this song back from you. I am tickled black!!

Thank you, DjPaulT,

Jeff

I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who loves this band! I remember when Stock, Aitken and Waterman tried to replicate their Gothic Crossover success with DOA by producing Danse Society’s “Say It Again”.

Martika, your musical tastes positively rule!! You and a couple of others here are near and dear to my heart! Not knowing you personally, I just have to say that I love you lots!! Your personality comes through and it makes me really admire the person you are. Thanks for making BTG such a special place for likeminded individuals.
