Thank you so very very much for The Big Supreme “Album”. I’ve wanted their records for a long time. With better songs of the “Don’t Walk” calibre they would have been winners. Best thing of all are your superb transfers – it’s like listening to a perfect analog master.
I had not given this a proper listen but indeed catchy track that is carried well by the vocals.
Wow, thanks for all The Big Supreme uploads, I used to have a couple of these singles on vinyl but lost them many years ago, it’s so cool to listen to them again but now as superb quality BTG transfers! If you liked Barry Flynn’s output as The Big Supreme his older releases under the moniker BONK are also worth checking out: https://www.discogs.com/artist/52959-Bonk
5 STARS! Never heard of this group until you introduced them; and I agree, they are great and should have been famous. Notably, they may not have released a full album, but thanks to you we now have 8 songs by them plus remixes, which makes for a pretty solid album. If record companies were smart, they would simply package them as an album and release on streaming.
Thanks for another contribution to DJ PaulT’s OBSCURE 80s compilations!
You’re welcome, Martika I am excited you have enjoyed this series 🙂
I enjoy the rarer stuff, been collecting 80s stuff for so long that less known music is the stuff you focus on finding. Occasionally that hidden gem pops it’s head up and you remind yourself that “this is why I do it”. Even if I have a certain song, often it isn’t in great quality (but you are glad to find the upgrades when they come along).
Glad you enjoy the rare stuff it is my favorite too 🙂
Nothing better than a single artist spotlight run!! Thank you, Paul, for posting all The Big Supreme singles in your beautiful fidelity!! I always think that maybe, one day, because of you posting the coolest music on the planet, might find a second chance for certain songs that may have fallen through the cracks!! What a fantastic thing that would be for the artists!! You have always been so supportive of the music you post!!
Have a super-duper weekend Paul, Song And Dance and all you great people who follow DjPaulT!!!
Jeff
I second Jeff’s comments exactly! Thank you!! Have a great weekend Paul and Jeff and everyone else in the BTG community!
You have a wonderful weekend, Retro Hound!!
Jeff
Thank you, Jeff I hope you are enjoying your weekend 🙂
This concludes The Big Supreme Week on BTG’s Totally Obscure ’80s
It’s been a blast this week discovering this band for the first time with these singles. I’m surprised they didn’t chart here inside the UK Top 40 in their native country.
Thanks Paul 🙂
You’re welcome 🙂
Thanks, Paul, for going deep into a single artist with your run of these four singles from the Big Supreme. I wasn’t previously familiar with Barry Flynn’s group, but now I know, thanks to you!
You’re welcome 🙂
Thank you so much Paul. Collection complete. This was an amazing week. My CD will be awesome. Have a great weekend!
You’re welcome 🙂
Thank you Paul. 🙂 @Jeff: as you were so fond of the subtitle “Do the Horsey Dog” – there is a promo edition of “Remind Me” which includes an “I Don’t Wanna See No Panties” version 😉
Have a nice weekend, Paul and Jeff and everyone around.
Hey Song And Dance!!!
I love these naughty sounding mix titles!!!
Have a great and sexy weekend!!!
Jeff
Truly bizarre they released 4 singles but never an album! Although if my count is right there are about enough songs spread across these singles to compile a virtual totally obscure 80’s album! Thanks for this “new” discovery!
You’re welcome 🙂
I don’t know if anyone else feels this way, but having no knowledge of this band I burned the tracks to CD. I started with the a-sides, then the b-sides, and ended with the “bonus” edits. I found the b-sides more to my liking than the a-sides! Maybe they would’ve been more successful if they picked different singles!
