Community News

Hi, BTG community,

I hope you are all doing fantastic! There are a few things I wanted to talk about first regarding 24-bit files. These files are only available for seven days; after that, they will no longer be available. If you enjoy grabbing this format, I suggest subscribing to BTG so that you can be alerted every time I make a new post. You can also follow BTG on one of our social media platforms, Facebook or Instagram.

These files are available for only seven days because of their larger file size; unlike the 16-bit files, I cannot host 24-bit files for an extended period on my server. I also typically leave the 16-bit files active for about three years, and then at the end of each year, I remove one year’s worth of 16-bit files to make room for another year of uploads. This keeps my hosting service happy since I am on a shared server and not using as much space.

Burning the Ground has been around since about 2008/09, and during that period my vinyl transferring skills and equipment have changed, so periodically I revisit older posts, especially those five years or older, and give them a new transfer. I love looking back at what I have posted in the past giving some of those records, in my opinion, an upgrade.

Many emails ask me to re-upload old files or send download links. I do not send links or files. I spend many hours working on new records, so I rarely have time to send out old files or links to everyone who asks for them.

Emails or private messages on social media are something that I try to answer, but I admit that I don’t always do so because of the number of them that I get each day. I do try to read each email or message. I apologize if I don’t answer yours right away or at all.

Many answers to questions can be found in the site’s FAQ.

I also love hearing your comments, so I always encourage you to leave comments. It is a way to engage with others who share your same interests in 80s and 90s remixes, and it helps build our community. I would love to see some new names in the comments section.

A reminder that the first week of April 2024 we will be having our spring fundraising drive, so just a heads up for that. I hope that you can help support BTG during that time.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this. I hope it answers some questions.
