While I admit to primarily using NVDA for acnicsesg the Web it is more than just a screen reader to access Web pages. For me, it has become my screen reader of choice. NVDA is one of the few screen readers which allows me to use it portably from a USB flash drive without the need to install software or drivers onto the host machine first. I regularly use it on a public library computer which does not have NVDA as part of its installed software. It is also nice to be able to insert a thumb drive onto a… Read more »

Hi Paul. Thanks so much for posting!! This is my favorite single from Kaleidoscope World, and the Remix Edit is unique to this 12″. I’m surprised this song wasn’t a bigger hit in the US since its not a far cry from Breakout – much more mainstream “pop” than the rest of the album. The mixes on this single are excellent. Thanks again.

Wishing you a great 2014!

WOW! A Superb Orsome Sensational post, Paul!
Been after the rare versions here for the longest time. This in fact is my favourite single off the sophomore album. I simply don’t understand why it wasn’t even a single released in the UK! Truly baffling!
Happy weekend, Paul!

Thank you so much for this, Paul–been tracking down this rare Remix Edit version of “Waiting Game” for years–it was a USA-only release, which I heard being played only on radio during the year it was released. Subsequent “best of” SOS compilations don’t have this rare single mix, so I’m overjoyed that I finally got to listen to it again through you, truly appreciate it! If you have the European 12″ of “You On My Mind,” there is a short edit version there that’s also considered rare, as it’s the only version of “You On My Mind” without the horns… Read more »

Loved this single. SOS were the missing link between Bacharach and new wave.

You are amazing and everyone will agree with me on this. I am a huge fan of SOS and I’m so glad to see this on here. The added Ultimix version is a remix collector’s dream come true.

Thanks Paul! There were others like When In Rome, Waterfront, Curiosity Killed The Cat, Hue & Cry, etc, but SOS really was the face of the Sophisti-pop genre. It saddens me that it, or Jazz-influenced pop, hasn’t had a resurgence.

I think more of blues when I think of her, but Classical, Blues, Jazz, Ethnic/World…all those genres were embraced for a time in England during the 80’s. Blue Zone might not have made it, and propelled her career, these days.
