BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1985
NEW 2021 Transfer!
Originally posted, February 16, 2012
“Love Is the Seventh Wave” was the second single and second track from Sting’s 1985 solo debut album The Dream of the Blue Turtles. The song is supposedly about love being the seventh wave or the strongest wave in a series of waves, thus wiping out any sort of problems. It concludes with a brief, self-mocking reference to Sting’s biggest hit song with The Police, “Every Breath You Take”, which had been about the dark side of love that leads to sexual jealousy and obsession.
The single contained a different mix of the song than the album mix, as well as a live version of “Consider Me Gone.”
“Love Is The Seventh Wave” debuted in the US Billboard Top 40 on November 23, 1985. The song remained in the top 40 for seventeen weeks peaking at #9.

Thank you Paul! This really sounds great.
hi paul,
welcome back, glad to see you posting again.
i like some of the early sting tracks, and really enjoyed this song.
this is not really that great of a remix, and is basically just another single version,
which is very disappointing.
sting has had lots of other great extended remixes, so i’m not sure why they didn’t bother with this one. i guess i’ll just have to make my own now.
looking forward to other releases this year,
and thanks for posting this also.

Can never get enough Sting in this household. Thank you. I, too, get the message, so I realize this is not the time to post this request, but, I’ve always wondered if you have any of the promo versions of “Demolition Man” Sting did in 1995? I know their are some exclusive tracks only on the 12″ promo singles. Maybe someday when things are right, if you have any to share! Thank you again for sharing all you do.
So lovely to see you back from your vacation-time. And to start with a new master of this is wonderful. Lovely to see you Paul
Thanks Paul!! Great re-post and very fitting.
Thank you Retro Hound 🙂
Soooo excited to see this pop up, thank you!
Also, I hope you enjoyed your time off!
I had a great time off Grant. Thank you 🙂
Paul, the New Mix has always been a favorite, and the 2021 transfer is noticeably improved over your wonderful original transfer — just fantastic! And of course, your message is received with hopeful ears as the opportunities for love to begin to rectify the past seem real again. Thank you so very much for this and all you do!
Really appreciate your feedback, Doug. It is time to heal and unite 🙂
Thank you very much Paul. This is a VERY good thing!!
You’re welcome, Carlos 🙂
I forgot about this track. I know I heard it though. Always with the 80s music that has good memories Paul. I remember Sting made an appearance in a 1984 released production of the sci-fi film “Dune,” as Feyd Rautha of House Harkonnen. 2021 is promising another film based on the same Frank Herbert’s Dune, produced by Warner Bros and filmed in IMAX and 12 track digital surround, DTS X, or Dolby Atmos depending on the theater. Lets hope the vaccines get us out of masks and able to go public soon, I still stay home unless I absolutely have… Read more »
I am very excited about “Dune” really hoping that it is done well can’t wait to see it in 4K.
Welcome back Paul. I hope you had a wonderful and restful vacation. Thought about you guys quite a lot and happy you possibly got away for a bit.
Nice song to come back to. And I love the cover too. Like what mothloop mentioned, Sting is quite a handsome man. And he is a Tantric God!! Looks like he’s packing a big “stinger” too!!
Thanks for this new re-entry into your “Paul – ography”.
Jeff
Thank you, Jeff I am glad to be back I missed you guys 🙂
I always thought his solo output was a little light. In hindsight maybe light is what we need. He sure was a handsome English gentleman. Look at that back cover shot. He’s probably making hours long Tantric love with Trudy right now. Thanks Paul and happy 2021 to you and all who travel here!
You’re welcome, Mothloop happy 2021 🙂
Super track!
Thank you 🙂
