Hi Paul, thanks for your rip of this Eighties classic. Definitely my favourite Secession song, and the only one I ever remember hearing in clubs back in the day. There is also a remake/cover of the same song by a band called NoHo released a few years later (which apparently had some of the same band members as Secession, but with female vocals). It’s also a killer track (but sounds very similar) if you ever manage to get your hands on it. In case anyone’s wondering, Parts 1 and 2 of the Secession version are on the 7″ single, but… Read more »
Thank you Paul…neatly replaces the mp3 I’ve had to make do with for years with a lossless rip :O)
Just need you to do the same for me with Promise 12″…do you have?
See what I can do Ian 🙂
Thanks Paul.
You’re welcome Omar 🙂
Yay! Love this song!
🙂
Something like if New Order had tried to do “italo”. Thank you Paul for this one!
You’re welcome Walter 🙂
Let’s dance forever… Let our hearts be exalted and our minds fly away (to those near and far to unforgettable 80’s) and that the pleasure of a remembrance continue to feed our bodies.
One of the best 12″ Vinyl of the 80’s.
Infinite thanks Paul, once again you make my days more pleasant. YEAHHHHHHH!!!!!!
Rafa
Nicely said, Rafa.
Thanks Paul. I love to Secede! (The acting of dancing to Secssion, if you can’t already guess) 😉 Paul, Speaking of Seccsion, I hope you upload the Michael 12″ someday. It’s more downtempo, but a great precursor to New Order’s 1963 a year later (similar subject matter and lyrics). Secession was one of those artists that was popular on stations like WLIR in the US when they weren’t as popular back home. We were fortunate. The same was true of bands artists like Hilary or APB (would love to see you upload their stuff here too). Tragically, we won’t see… Read more »
I will see what I can do in regards of your requests 🙂
LOVE THIS ONE
ONE OF THE 30 BEST 12 INCHES IN THE WORLD
THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You’re welcome Carsten 🙂
Reading Song And Dance’s wild exclamation of pleasure above, I’m so excited for this record. Secession is talked about a lot these days on the New Wave Outpost with the release of vintage material, so your post is most timely. And Paul, you have set such a benchmark for audio superiority, I just enjoy your mastering and presentation better than a lot of these re-issues. On the NWO blog, I’ve heard good things about the music, but I just love how you present your records here. All of your Secession postings have been delectable so I can imagine this one.… Read more »
Hear Hear!
Nothing more to add, you´re speaking from my heart, Jeff. I´m so happy I found this safe haven just a couple of years ago.
Have a nice weekend, Jeff and Paul and all members of our BTG family 🙂
Have a nice weekend too! (a “family” member)🙂
Thanks so much, Jeff I never knew Sucession had such a devoted following. Have a lovely weekend 🙂
I like this band and song. I discovered Secession when you posted “The magician” my favorite single by them. Thank you so much Paul for another amazing week. The posts of Kirlian Camera and Endgames were just brilliant. Have a great weekend 🙂
Have a great weekend Daniel 🙂
FAAAAAAANTASSSSSSTICKCKCKCKCKCKCK Oh Paul, what a way to kick us off into the weekend (it´s 7:28 pm over here so mine has already begun). I remember standing in a well-known record store way back then when the owner played Touch III. I practically ran to his desk (more like a dj´s corner) and must have shouted at him “What the *** is THAT!?!? I WANT A 12inch NOW!” 🙂 He laughed and said something like, “I knew this was something for you. It has just been released.” I tore the record from his hands and until today I must have listened… Read more »
Song And Dance, I love your “orgasmic” response to this record!! You’re getting me all hot and bothered just waiting to hear this jam. I love your tastes as well. You also give a lot of credit to B-Side songs too. Thanks!!
OH, I think I know “Sultana” by Taracco. I do hope Paul has the 12-inch to the song if there is one. I do remember a video for this record and I do love it.
Have a marvelous weekend and thank you for your contagious excitement!!
Jeff
Hi S’n’D,
About the 12inch of Tarracco you mentioned. This song is awesome. One of my favourites. I have the 12″ mix of “Sultana” on CD, on his unique album called “Big bang”. Maybe you have it too.
Love you enthusiasm Song And Dance. Have a fantastic weekend 🙂
