Thank you very much Paul.
Thank you Paul. Is there a misslabel? “Long version” is actually “version” and viceversa.
Sorry I made a mistake: ” short” is actually “long”, “version” is “short” and “long” is “version”
You are right, that´s what it says on one of my 12inches too.
A1 long 4:24
A2 short 3:34
B version 6:31
My other 12inch reads
A1 version 1
A2 7inch single
B version 2
I went by what was listed on Discogs gyess I should have payed more attention. Sorry about that.
Definitely a memory jerker for those of us who grew up in the eighties. But Paul, it’s a British group. I know he (Green) was working with two american musicians by this point but Scritti started as a 3/4 piece band here in the UK and although that line up was gone by this point (which was their height commercially) this line up didn’t prevail either. The current line up is all british, but it doesn’t matter anyway, Scritti is now acknowledged to be all about Green Gartside. Same way Aztec Camera became really just about Roddy. Green is Scritti.… Read more »
Day after day you bring classic gems back into the world – thank you Paul!
Some of the best pop music of the 80s, this. Slightly disappointed the Green poster isn’t included 🙂 but I imagine that it would be difficult to scan. Anyway, cheers!
Another treat for sure Paul. I love this song, this group, that…VOICE!! I always feel the on-line community is rewarded whenever you post something. Actually, everything you post is a heavenly surprise, a gift. And when it is a personal favorite like this song, it’s a total miracle. You are the man, Paul. You astound me by your excellent tastes You make my days, nights and every moment in between something to relish and revel in.
Jeff
Thank you Jeff. It was like musical chairs with regards to the record I was going to post today. I had issues with a couple of other contenders but Scritti Politti won the game 🙂
Finally! Taken from a great album which I have on vinyl and cd. The awesome “Absolute” was my first of ten Scritti Politti 12inches. I still love Green Gartside´s voice. My favourite album track was an is “A Little Knowledge” which unfortunately was not published as a single. I would have loved to have a 12-minute suite made out of that. Well, you can´t have it all, can you? 🙂
One of my favorite tracks from that album too Song_and_Dance would have made a great single 🙂
Very nice Paul. Always good to hear some Scritti Politti. Thank you 🙂
You’re welcome Jay65 🙂
Thanks Paul. One of my SP faves.
You’re welcome Omar 🙂
