Burning The Ground Exclusive 1988
To me the Peanuts gang is always associated with the Holiday Season, so here is a little something to keep you dancing all the way into the New Year.
“Linus and Lucy” is a popular instrumental jazz standard written by American jazz pianist Vince Guaraldi, appearing in many Peanuts animated specials. Named for the two fictional siblings Linus and Lucy van Pelt, it gained its greatest exposure as part of the A Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack. It is one of the most recognizable pieces by Guaraldi and has gained status as the signature melody of the Peanuts franchise.
In 1988, a Electro cover version was produced and arranged by Tom Bennett Davis under the alias of Schroeder. It contains edits by Carlos Berrios and Omar Santana. The record was released on the Pow Wow Records label.
The song did not chart.

I love me some Pine Nuts, and just in time for Festivus!
Thank you, Paul 🙂
Wow great obscure 12″!!!
This is awesome. Thank you Paul.
Thanks for all of the great posts through the year!! Merry Christmas to you & your family
Merry Christmas! 🙂
Not sure who gave this a 1-star rating, but I just fixed it, as it clearly deserves 5 stars… I love finding these obscure records on your site. AMAZING FIND! Thank you for sharing it!
I’m actually surprised that Art Of Noise, Paul Hardcastle, or Harold Faltermeyer didn’t think of covering it!
I love people who have great taste in music. When I first heard this it did remind me of something maybe from a movie almost like Axel-F along those lines. Enjoy 🙂
I love reading enthusiastic responses to Paul’s posts. And great observation when you said about other artists covering this one. I really like your tastes in music, Martika!!
Have a great day and Holiday Season!!
Jeff
Thank you, guys! And Merry X-mas to you too!!! I think Paul nailed it: It sounds like it belongs in an 80s Thriller soundtrack, like during a heist!
Oh, and also – my younger son is learning to play this on the piano right now!!
I hope he keeps on trying practice makes perfect 🙂
omg, what a joy to see this! I’ve bought this twice on vinyl thru the years, once on cassette, once on CD – so it’s nice to finally get an alt version I haven’t heard before. Thank a ton!
You’re welcome, Grant 🙂
HURRAY!!!!!! Man Paul, this is like the best Christmas gift this year!! I have always dreamed of you posting this single and the day has finally arrived!!! This record is a “cult song” for me. As you know all too well, Edits by Omar Santana are a big deal for me. And here he’s joined by another Edit King, Carlos Berrios!! Can’t thank you enough for this track!! People will be break dancing around the Christmas tree!! You are so amazing Paul for dusting this one off. Thank you, Jeff these really did create an edit masterpiece. Happy Holidays 🙂
A couple of years ago my son really got into a musical artist named Joji. One of his tracks samples Vince Guaraldi’s Peanuts music. I recognized it right away when he played the song… he absolutely refused to believe it until Google proved me RIGHT! LOL I told him Beau, don’t argue with the parents we know what we know!!!
Indeed they do 🙂
