UAU! I listened to it and enjoyed it a lot, in those years… I believe I never knew the name of the song. Rascals Dub is classic and supreme! Thanks for the RIP and info, Paul.

Sa-Fire’s first single was actually “Don’t Break My Heart” – Followed by “Let Me Be The One”
They didn’t include “Don’t Break My Heart” on her Debut album, and only Included the club mix (+dub) of “Let Me Be The One” on the CD

Hey Paul, I love Sa-fire’s early music from the late 80’s. Her later efforts, however, aren’t as good (although Exotique from 2009 is the exception). Thanks very much for ripping this vinyl. I hope you have some of her other freestyle singles to post in the future. Let Me Be the One is my personal favourite. Please keep these freestyle classics coming. They still make me want to dance. Loving what you’re doing, hombre!

Let’s also thank Marc Anthony and the Latin Rascals!

When I saw the cover of this 12″ it was immediately familiar to me. I have it as a CD single containing all these Latin Rascals edits. I bought it by mistake on a rummage sale. I confused it with a german synth-pop band called “Saphir”. I’m finally glad I had this confusion because I really like these mixes.

You got lucky. If it is the German edition I’m thinking of, that CD single is worth a pretty penny!

It is the german edition. Only the 7″ version is not included.

What I so love about these releases you’re doing (and like all of your other rips) you are giving us the full 12-inch treatment! I’m sorry, that came out a bit dirty, but so many versions are left out of compilations. Paul, you’re making me full-on happy doing the records you’re doing. I really loved Sa-Fire, who I believe was married for a time to Albert Cabrera, one of the Latin Rascals. It’s interesting to see how major labels were going after these Latin Hip Hop artists after they saw how the records off of independent labels were selling. Cutting… Read more »

The 12-inch treatment is always better than the 7-inch treatment. LOL
