Roxette – Dangerous (US 12″)

Burning The Ground Exclusive 1989

“Dangerous” is a song by Swedish pop duo Roxette. Written by Per Gessle, the song was released as the fourth and final single from their second studio album, Look Sharp! (1988). Gessle penned it just before Roxette’s first tour in 1987. Released in May 1989, it was the group’s third top-10 single on the US Billboard Hot 100, reaching number two. It also entered the top 10 in Australia, Canada, and six European countries. The music video was recorded in the ruins of Borgholm Castle. In the UK and Ireland, “Dangerous” was released as a double A-side with “Listen to Your Heart”.

The accompanying music video for “Dangerous” was filmed during Roxette’s concert at Borgholm Castle in Öland, Sweden, in July 1989. It is a mix of rehearsal and live performance footage from that show and was directed by Doug Freel.

Muchas gracasi!!! Excelente single! Recuerdo haberlo conseguido cuando estaba en la secundaria. Gracias por la nostalgia.
Habrá oportunidad de subir el maxi-single 12″ “The Look” (6 tracks)?
¡Felicidades por el buen trabajo, como siempre!

Recent lurker, first time poster. Thank you for this great remix single, probably my favorite Roxette track. Cleaned up the hype decal to create a custom cover!

great stuff. The Dance Passion LP is hard to get. There were bootlegs of this made. So you are lucky if you have a real copy.

LOVE this song!! Back in the day I liked it even more than The Look. Hot video as well! I’ve heard the two Power Mixes before, but I don’t think I’ve heard the Dub, so very excited about this! These two Swedes taught us Americans a thing or two about making great, catchy, accessible pop/rock music for the masses! Keep ’em coming Paul and a big THANK YOU!

Agreed. Yep the Dub hasn’t been released digitally or on CD. I love the 12 inch on the European release. The ‘Waste Of Vinyl 12″ Mix’. Its an old school extended remix

Always pleased to see Rox 12″ here as they were hard to find until the recent digital only Remix compilations. Those compilations sound compressed to my ears, so it’s fantastic to see them here. Thanks Paul

Due to the exceptional weakness of this song, play it loud.

Had to look that one up. I recall the first time I heard Joyride. I was still in school and the music video was shown on one of the after school TV shows we had at the time. Still a favourite of mine.

Yep still good one. I prefer the 12” version (of course). Yes on some vinyl copies of Joyride – I think 7” copies .. in the runout groove section of the vinyl, ‘Was whistling even necessary’ was etched. My 12” single doesn’t have this etching though
