Burning The Ground Exclusive 1984
“Say No” was the second single and follow-up to their breakthrough hit “A Girl In Trouble (Is A Temporary Thing)” from the Columbia album Instincts, recorded by American New Wave band Romeo Void.
“Say No” failed to chart becoming the band’s final single, soon after Columbia pulled the band’s promotional support while on a nationwide tour. The band returned to San Francisco and soon broke up.

Loved this single (A and B sides). So happy to see it here! Thanks for posting.
You’re welcome, good to see you 🙂
Wow, “new” Romeo Void I haven’t heard. Thank you!
You’re welcome, Don 🙂
Classic!
Thank you 🙂
The only song I know by Romeo Void is “Never Say Never”. I can’t wait to play this one. Thanks, Paul.
You’re welcome, Bill I hope that you like this one 🙂
So glad you are back Paul. I hope you are all well. I had you in my thoughts. So happy to see another obscure post. I discovered their “A girl in trouble” here on BTG. This one is fine too. Thank you Paul.
Thank you Daniel 🙂
Hallelujah!!!! Paul, you have no idea how much this means to me. I sadly never got to pick this one up at the record store, nor ever heard these mixes. I had fully forgotten about this 12-inch until just seeing it here, posted on your website. What an incredible surprise to see that Francoise K. did the remixes. Nothing better than a top-notch remixer doing New Wave/Alternative dance records. I really lamented Romeo Void breaking up. It was much too soon and even though Deborah Iyall (?) had a brief solo career, it just wasn’t the same. Thanks for making… Read more »
Romeo Void was such an underrated band. So sad that their label was not behind them because they were too concerned about image. Romeo Void was an immense force that should have gone further. 🙂
I like how you are including the remixer in your tags! Wish more bloggers categorized in this way.
Thank you, Reed. I think it’s important to showcase the remixer, producers etc 🙂
Amen to that! Paul, like so much of the community here, definitely values all the creative people behind the records. And it’s a gosh darn shame that even today, new compilations don’t have credited liner notes so we can look into the names of the people we admire.
Have a nice day!
Jeff
Thanks Paul. I remember this one clearly.
You’re welcome, Omar 🙂
Fantastic find! Thank you, Paul.
You’re welcome, Dean 🙂
