One of the best “One Hit Wonders” of the 80’s. Thanks Paul
One of the great singles of the era. Thank you!
Might you have Debora’s 12″ Strange Language to post? I was a bit disappointed that is wasn’t included on any of the Romeo Void reissues over the years, which included her solo LP the single was taken from!
Awesome! Romeo Void is one of those bands that shaped the New Wave that not everyone outside the US knows about. In my opinion, one of the best of its kind, with a singer out of this world. Thanks Paul for sharing this gem.
You’re welcome Walter C. 🙂
I loved this band back in the day, they had a wonderful eclectic blend of musical styles that gave them a very distinctive sound. Shame the music business is so hung up on looks, they never gave them a chance and pulled the rug out from under them.
VH1 did a Bands Reunited episode that discussed this and some of the internal friction that ultimately caused the band to break up. A terrible shame, they were such a talented group of musicians.
Thanks for this very rare treat of a great band.
Here is the YouTube link of the VH1 episode I was speaking of:

Thank you for the link I will enjoy watching this 🙂
Hope everyone had a great holiday. Thanks for Romeo Void. To me all their stuff is desert island worthy.
I agree RollingStoner. Thanks 🙂
This is such an unbelievably brilliant song. Simplistic in a way but layers in some respects.
Awesome choice Paul and thank you!
Nubben
You’re welcome Nubben 🙂
Thanks Paul. This song is awesome and the Dance Mix sounds great. Worried about the news about Olivia. I hope she will return and beat the cancer once again.
Thank you Daniel. Olivia is a thriver and will beat this 🙂
Thanks Paul.
You’re welcome Omar 🙂
On an unrelated note, and very sad news… Olivia Newton-John Is Battling Breast Cancer That Has Spread Into Her Back. Doctors have diagnosed the star, 68, with breast cancer that has metastasized to the sacrum, according to the statement. The star initially postponed the first half of her concert tour two weeks ago because of severe back pain from what she thought was sciatica.
You can find the news article here….

I heard the news on ONJ’s Facebook page today and was stunned. This is the second time Olivia has battled breast cancer the first being in 1992. Olivia is a fighter and has done so much good for the world. I know she will beat this and return “Stronger Than Before”.
She is a warrior, and one of my favorite’s! I am rooting for her!
I was obsessed with the song’s “Heart Attack” and “Physical” back in 1982 and played that whole “Olivia’s Greatest Hits Vol. 2” until it fell apart.
I love that Greatest Hit’s album. Loved her in Grease. Xanadu. And then when she came out with “Twist Of Fate” my life was complete as they say.
She really is an amazing woman.Rooting for her all the way.
Romeo Void is one of my all-time favorites Paul. They were based here in the Bay Area I believe? A funny story, I actually have the lead singer on my Facebook page! Her name is Debora Iyall and I added her years ago without realizing exactly who she was. Now when she posts on my comments I tell my friends “This is the woman who sang in Romeo Void… remember that song “I might like you better if we slept together?” Hahaha, and she recently did a concert with Annabella Lwin of Bow Wow Wow (I have her on my… Read more »
I love Debora Iyall and have been listening to Romeo Void all weekend. I thought she was cool. I think Romeo Void were pretty underrated.
I agree, and I have found that they had plenty of other great songs than what everybody seems to know.
How about the never-released on CD 12″ mix of “I Love A Man In A Uniform” by Gang Of Four?
An awesome tune. Gang of 4’s Is It Love was on here a long time ago, but disappeared. Perhaps someone complained.
It can be found online if you search…may struggle to find in flac but 320k is out there courtesy of the now defunct ‘funwithvinyl’ blog.
That blog is closed. I will get to it when I can.
Yes, I did say “the now defunct”.
Wow, it’s hard to believe this was their only hit. Cool band. Good to see you back here, indeed the weekend went by too fast.
Thank you Joey 🙂
First, welcome back Paul!! I hope you had a nice and happy Memorial Day holiday Weekend! And now, ….WOW!!! It’s really exciting that you’ve posted something by Romeo Void. This song is so awesome and it’s great that’s there is an edit of the dance mix too. I can’t wait to hear your treatment of the audio. There’s so much talent when it comes to you ripping sounds from the original vinyl releases. It’s magic too, with the respect you have for the original medium and the alchemy you use when it comes to your skills as a vinyl technician.… Read more »
Thank you Jeff. I had a nice weekend but it went by too fast. Always loved this band especially the lead singer Debora Iyall always thought she was really cool.
