Thank you so much Paul!!
I love this since 1985.
My suggestion for you to offer us…
Gary Chandler – Dancing In Heaven (12” Version)
Greetings from Brazil !!
OMG, this is what I’ve been looking for for a long time, it’s very difficult to find it on the Internet. Finally I found it here.
Thank you so much Paul!!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You’re welcome, Arie 🙂
I have never heard this song or even of it or the artist! If you listen to the Edit, at 2:26 for awhile the beat seems to have been lifted (or same drum machine) as The Word Is Out by Jermaine Stewart from 1984. Listen to the intro of The Word Is Out for best comparison. Regardless, it’s really cool to have some 1985 editing and splicing by Chep, Charlie D (amazing work on Sweet Sensation dubs!!), and Latin Rascals AS WELL AS credits to Steve Peck (Madonna) and Bob Rosa! What a crew on this release! Thanks, Paul! I… Read more »
Hi Fred,
So sorry about your parents. Hope everything will be alright soon.
Great to see you chime in here. Miss you.
Jeff
Sorry to hear about your parents, Fred. We are keeping you in our thoughts.
Definitely HOT!! I can see why it was fertile for the Latin Rascals to have a field day on this one, Lol. Thank you Paul!! Your next post you may want to have the paramedics ready for Jeff, Lol!
Most definitely, Retro Hound!!
Jeff
This was one of those singles i didn’t initially remember, but then after hearing it, the cool memories come flooding back.
I love the sleeve art too.
Thanks Paul 🙂
You’re welcome, Marco 🙂
I am clutching my heart, Paul!! This is an extremely euphoric high for me!! I love this song, but it’s the dubs I am palpitating for!!
I have to calm down, but I’ll be back later to rave some more!!
Jeff
Take it easy, Jeff lol 🙂
You have to forgive me, Paul. Now that I have more composure, I wanted to explain myself a little bit more. I’m what you would call an “Edithead” because I am obsessed, thrilled, and LIVE for the art of the magnetic tape cut and paste. I was introduced to “editing” by The Latin Rascals. They did mix shows on New York’s WKTU and KISS FM. Besides their perfect blending and segues, they would cut up the master reel-to-reels with these percussive effects. They got to be so notorious that they captured the ears of Arthur Baker and other producers who… Read more »
Wow Jeff, your excitement is addictive!! I have yet to hear these mixes, but you are certainly building up the anticipation! And thanks for the inside info on how the Latin Rascals did their work, so fascinating!
P.S. I hope you regain control of your bladder soon, Lol!
P.P.S. I feel the same way about the analog vs. digital splicing. Same goes for film, there is no comparison between the mind-blowing creativity they used in practical effects/stop-motion animation, etc. vs. today’s cheaply done CGI!
LOL! Next time, before checking out Paul’s Blog, I’ll wear Depends!!
Jeff
That might come in handy, LOL!
