BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1988
“Take Me To Your Heart” is a 1988 song recorded by Rick Astley. Written and produced by Stock Aitken Waterman, the song was released the same year as the second single from the album, Hold Me in Your Arms. It was a success on the UK Singles Chart where it peaked at number 8 and charted for eleven weeks. It was also a top 10 hit in Denmark, Germany, Ireland, and Spain. Unlike most of Astley’s previous singles, it was never released in the U.S.
A controversy raised around “Big Fun”, the hit single recorded by American band Inner City, as the song was very similar to “Take Me to Your Heart” at the music level. Stock Aitken Waterman said the band had stolen the music of the song for “Big Fun” and therefore re-used it in “The Dick Dastardly Mix”.

Do you have his early 90s hit, You Move Me? It was featured prominently in the movie Aspen Extreme.
Greeeeeeeeeeat!!!! Amazing! Which software you use for manual declicking?
Hi Paul,

Very good song !!!
Very good song !!
I didn’t even know about this song, much less the 12″ (being in the U.S., we didn’t get this one). Thanks for sharing! Great track and extended mix. Rick is great. What a voice.
This brings up great memories. My semester of college in London and so many good songs, including this, on the radio. Thanks for the smiles, Paul, and a belated Happy Birthday to you.
I do have this vinyl pressed in Costa Rica, not the best sound and now worn out. Now I got it in Burningtheground Rip quality, thanks for it. Happy belated birthday, we do share the same date.
That’s funny! I never knew that about this song!!!
Thank you!
p.s.: I can’t think of anyone else who could possibly have the 1998 remixes of this song. I hope you can help:

Hi. 1)That cd is from 1998 and I doubt Paul would post something so far ahead in years. He’s posted a few 1990 rips in the past 7 years but that’s about it. 2)Why not just buy the cd single on Discogs? I buy so many cd singles or remastered albums after finding gems on this site. I would highly suggest that all visitors here give back to the artists by purchasing the material. Discogs is amazing for both easy research and purchases.
Too bad. I can’t find that record anywhere and I really love those remixes … maybe someone can trade with me directly? I really just need it in MP3.
Go to discogs.com and you will find it there.
I am sure your searching engine is not doing it’s job correctly.
The first two albums were remastered with all mixes released commercially some time ago.
And they are all available to purchase.
original posted by Guill “The first two albums were remastered with all mixes released commercially some time ago.” Yep, remasterd by cherry red and edsel, and they all sound UTTERLY SHIT with excessive digital clipping, with no dynamic range and head room for the music to breathe. My friend and I have bought the original japanese dance EP CDs that were released in 1989 and 1990 respectively, and they both sound good. If I please had ONE more request for DJ Paul, I would love him to do a rip of Rick Astley’s “Whenever you need somebody”, the lonely heart mix. It… Read more »
This just makes me happy Paul. Karen adores Rick Astley and I do too. And please give us more Rick if you’re able. Thank Paul for another vinyl gem!
Jeff
Well, FORGIIIIIVE ME but I LOVE Rick Astley. I just love his voice. I own approx 20 12-inches and cherish them. Just a couple of years ago I was lucky enough to attend one of his festival entries and he was bloody amazing. Still great voice and he just seems to be a lovely person. Please please please gift us with many more Rick Astley 12-inches, Paul. Another thing I love about his singles is that they often come with a really good b-side. “I´ll be fine” is very nice but my all-time favourite regarding Rick´s b-sides is “Just good… Read more »
I love your passion for Mr. Astley, Song And Dance. He does have a wonderful voice. My favorite track is his version of “When I Fall In Love” and that’s saying a lot because I really love Nat King Cole’s version. Rick has such a powerful, swoon-worthy voice. I really admire him.
Have a nice day Song And Dance!
Jeff
Very good interpreter still in force and rotating in several festivals, thanks
