Rick Astley is my all time favourite male singer. I was a fan from the start back in 1987…. a long time before YouTube and Rickroll was invented. Rick was the one guy that truly rivalled Elvis Presley in voice although Rick looked more like Tintin than a pop star.

Rick did a UK BBC 1 News Year’s Eve tv show concert 2023 into 2024. He’s still got his iconic voice. The concert is on YouTube.

So catchy!! In the late 80s you couldn’t turn on the radio without hearing Rick Astley. We got Rick Rolled before that was even a thing, Lol!! Such a soulful voice, he sounded far older than he was. Thank you for these exclusive mixes! You’re the best Paul!

At his best I think he is the greatest male singer of them all. Stock Atiken Waterman knew how great he was. Rick’s later work was a little more middle of the road for my taste. Some great tracks on his albums ‘Free’ and ‘Body and Soul’ though. I adore ‘Never Knew Love’ from Free album.

I remember this single in the UK singles chart, these mixes are a treat to hear for the first time though.

Thanks Paul 🙂

Great release — these mixes used to be very rare — I have them on vinyl but it’s great to hear them brought up to Paul’s high standards!

Thanks! I have to confess I was so surprised at how much I liked last year’s “Are We There Yet?”
