Odd that they chose a Contact-era photo from 1985.
thanks paul, love me some pointer sisters! also love any mixes from thompson-barbiero, somehow when people talk about eighties dance music, they often get overlooked!
The BHC II OST is solid as its predecessor, with multiple hits from Bob Sedger, George Michael and The Jets, plus minor hits from Pebbles, James Ingram and Pointer Sisters.
However, the soundtrack version of Be There is just alright, but the Thompson & Barbiero Mixes here…totally different story….they rock!
Thanks Paul for more 80s excellence!
I too, love the remix-ology of the duo, and look forward to more of your posts featuring their remixes.
Great addition, Paul! This song always seems to be forgotten and it’s never been on any of the multiple hits/best of compilations of The Pointer Sisters. Thank you for giving it some well-deserved recognition!
You’re welcome Dan. It is indeed a lost gem that has been overlooked.
Indeed one of the best Thompson & Barbiero mixes (together with Bowie’s “underground” and Aretha’s “I knew you were waiting”). Maybe some tips for the future ? 🙂
Thanks for this gem Paul.
Trikke
You’re welcome Trikke! In fact I have both of the singles you mentioned and they are on my list of future posts 🙂
Thompson & Barbiero mixed the heck out of this mix. Excellent drum patterns…still one of my fave PS songs. Thank you!
Hi Chris you’re welcome!
