Pat Benatar – Sex As A Weapon (Germany 12″)

New 2015 Re-Rip!
Remastered using the Ortofon OM Super 30 stylus!

This is one of those singles that I originally ripped way back in December, 2010. Back then I was using ClickRepair and the Ortofon OM 20 stylus. The result was a good rip but not as good as it could be. Now in 2015 I have stopped using ClickRepair started manually removing clicks and updated my stylus to the Ortofon OM Super 30. I also upgraded the tube in my Bellari phono pre-amp to the Tung-Sol 12AX7ECC803-S Gold Electron tube resulting in a much higher quality transfer. Enjoy!

“Sex As A Weapon” was the second single taken from American singer Pat Benatar’s sixth studio album “Seven The Hard Way”. The single peaked at #28 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in January 1986.

Thanks for redoing this one…most of her mixes that she released are pretty difficult to find any more. Do you have the original US 7″ of “Hit Me With Your Best Shot”? This single was remix with more guitars than the normal version and has never been released again that I am aware of.

By the way, I’m curious what type of download is most popular among your readers, 24, 16 or mp3?

Happy “hump” day Paul!! Man, I’m raging hard for this re-rip! I’m too excited because this was one of the first downloads I ever made on your site. Now, with the extra quality, I am so enthusiastic about it. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH PAUL!! Your new equipment is just so phenomenal and all the effort you do to remove clicks manually is a celebration! Gosh, how I love your commitment to high fidelity. This mix is so perfect and I swoon over the instrumental too. You’ve literally put me in a state of tumescence Paul over this 12-inch. Breathless… Read more »

Hey, I wasn’t expecting Sex today! Thanks Paul, very happy with the Pat Benatar series this week (but I lost my mind already last Monday).
Another excellent single by Pat. Kinda strange it only reached no. 28 in the US.
