Debbie Harry – Rush Rush (Special Extended Remix) (US 12″)

Burning The Ground Exclusive 1983

NEW 2021 transfer!
NEW Meticulous restoration!

Originally posted May 10, 2011

“Rush,  Rush” is a song by American singer Debbie Harry. Released as a single in 1983, it is taken from the soundtrack album of the film Scarface (1983).

“Rush Rush” was the first single Harry released after Blondie broke up in 1982, and was one of the several projects she worked on in between her first and second solo albums. It was Harry’s second collaboration with Italian producer Giorgio Moroder, the first being Blondie’s 1980 number-one hit “Call Me” (from the 1980 movie American Gigolo). The song was a reference to drug use, “llello” being a Spanish colloquialism for cocaine.

“Rush Rush” peaked at #105 on the US Billboard chart but became a moderate US dance hit. The single also peaked at #87 in the UK.

The song was also featured in the 2001 video game Grand Theft Auto III on the fictional in-game radio station “Flashback 95.6” (Flashback FM) alongside four other songs from the Scarface soundtrack. The song also appears in the 1986 Tom Hanks film The Money Pit.

ZZ Top – ZZ Top Club (Japan Mini-LP)

Burning The Ground Exclusive 1987

In memory of bassist Dusty Hill 1949-2021. Dusty Hill joined ZZ Top in 1970 and played on all of the band’s albums, the last of which was La Futura in 2012. Along with bass, Dusty Hill also contributed to keyboards and backing, and lead vocals.

“ZZ Top Club” is a twelve-Inch mini-LP released only in Japan, Australia, and New Zealand on vinyl and cassette. The limited-edition project includes rare remixes from the band’s 1980s output. Three of the tracks were US Billboard Dance Hits Legs #13 (1984), Velcro Fly #43 (1986), and #41 (1986).

This project was released to coincide with the Japan tour of that period as shown on the obi-strip in Japanese (来日記念盤).

Unlike many Rock bands, ZZ Top embraced the Twelve-Inch single format releasing many during their long career. ZZ Top has sold over 25 million albums in the US with additional sales internationally.
