10 out of 10 for the message. 7 out of 10 for the lyrics. 2 out of 10 on the execution. LOLz! 🙂 I’m a vegan and still can’t even … but The Smiths anthem “Meat Is Murder” is pretty dire and nothing that anyone wants to sit around listening to either. {*ha!*} But thanks for the upload. My favourite vegan song is this –> http://youtu.be/FLqjLn0W5K0

The song puts forth a variation of very strong messages..? But, did the pills kick in near the finishing of the song? Freestylingly mentioning other-worldly friends and having divine sex while singing a song about cruelty to animals. Cleverly cut, this one. I started humming other songs while listening. Not sure of that is a good sign, by the way. Funky Cold Medina riffs, some Fleetwood Mac, some Quincy Jones cuts, but laid over a demo by the people from The Power Station – something like that. Do animals eat animals, can someone explain to me ? No disrespect, just… Read more »

Not sure if you’re checking comments on the older postings, so I’m thanking you here for the Eurythmics 12″ single of Julia. It’s beautiful and I’ve never heard this version. Thank you again! Fantastic stuff.

7″ and Instr are reversed, maybe on the download, maybe on the release?

Thanks so much for this one and for bringing back a special memory: I was lucky enough to see Lene Lovich doing a special mini show to promote this single and PETA. She sang it live over a backing track, but sadly Nina Hagen wasn’t there. (She also sang Cerrone’s “Supernature,” which she wrote the lyrics to.)

Hi DJ Paul, new site poster here.

I’ve only discovered BTG in the past 2 weeks (and when I read your “About BTG” page, I thought, ‘Heck, where have I been?’) Thanks for all the work you put in to providing us with many, many hours of not just memories, but also new material…and all in such high quality. I was born in 1973, and you have extended mixes/remixes which even I’ve never heard before, including this one.

Regards,

Bryan

Thank you very much for the welcome, Paul.

It’s always nice to discover a community who appreciate 80s/90s 12-inchers. I don’t have nearly as many as I’d like to have, so when I discover a site such as yours, I am so very appreciative.

Thanks again,

Bryan

p.s. Do you happen to know of a good method for reducing, or even removing altogether, warping from vinyl records?

I could literally jump out of my skin, Paul!! YAY!!!!! I have the “Animal Liberation” LP and the “Tame Yourself” CD, but, never this 12-inch!!Gosh, you really have the most intense record collection that I know of. You’re like the Library of Congress, but for vinyl!! Whoa, I am living the memories big time with this song!! AND, to have Nina Hagen team up with Lene Lovich —— What an Inspired Idea!! These are the Divas of my avante garde sensibilities. And you, Paul, have given us all the great twelves of Miss Lovich. Gosh, you really THRILL ME!!! You… Read more »

I’m afraid not all of them, Jeff. The rarest of all, the extended version of “New Toy” (4:35) is not here or anywhere.

Knowing our DjPaulT, he probably has it, or can get it with the help of our donations. Once thing that is the best about Burning The Ground, is Paul’s commitment to getting to our faves eventually. I always have faith and patience. Paul is the absolute BEST!!

Have a great weekend, Walter C

I will be eternally thanking DjPaulT for sharing things with us that I did not even know existed. I am sure he always takes into account our suggestions to enlarge his amazing collection. As I said, there will always be something impossible to get simply because the few who have it do not have it for sale. Of course he is an absolute hero for me too!

Let’s keep collecting, Jeff!
