The album that this is from was thrown under a bus in the U.S., which I’ve never understood why. Subject matter-wise, it’s pretty lightweight—bat your eyelashes at it and it’ll float away—but musically, it was cutting edge for 1989, in many places not too far removed from what acts like Paula Abdul were doing at the top of the charts. Thanks for putting this mix up for all to enjoy.
How cool is this and the first time i hear this Francois K remix. Great song too.
Thanks Paul 🙂
Great share. Thanks! Anyone here have and can share the album I saw on itunes for a while but has since been removed? Of course I’m talking about “The Real Haircut 100: Short Back and Sides”. There’s a track or two on Youtube, but I’d really like to hear the entire album.
Excellent choice on a Monday! THANKS.
I had – still have somewhere – the “Tell me why” 3″ cd single and it features the single version of “you’re my world” (DEAL!)
“Tell me why” for next Monday ?
Haircut 100/Nick Heyward are a treat, always. Thank you, Paul.
You’re welcome Sven 🙂
Thanks Paul. Love this single by Nick.
You’re welcome Omar 🙂
Nice rip, Paul!! The non-chorus instrumental portions of the edit remind me very much of Dreams by Fleetwood Mac and the 0:18-0:32 vocals sound just like The Cars.
Francois’ mix is totally his style. 🙂
I’m very surprised this never charted in the USA…I’ve never heard it until today and I REALLY like the Edit!! It’s actually more pleasing to my ears than the remix. Probably because I’ve never heard it before.
Thanks so much for introducing me to this great track!!
You’re welcome Fred it’s always fun exploring new records 🙂 I don’t think Nick Heyward was very well known in the USA outside of Haircut 100 which I think we’re a one-hit wonder in the USA.
Wow Paul! This is a wonderful start into this new week. I love the song and the Kervorkian remix. I do also own this 12″ and I’ve been waiting to get a crystal clean rip. Here it is. Thanks a lot Paul.
You are very welcome Daniel 🙂
Another Francois K. mix I can scratch off my list. Way to go Paul for starting the week off on a spectacular note. I love your postings.
Jeff
You’re welcome Jeff you can’t go wrong with a Francois K mix 🙂
