The only 2 extended versions of this I’ve found are roughly of lengths 5:58 and 6:18. The one that’s 20 seconds longer seems to be the same mix as the first, with a little vocal flourish strangely tacked on the end.
Thanks Bruno for that. This mix has what would be referred to as a false ending of sorts. By fading guitars and synth back in a lead up to a closing backing vocal solo. Funny I thought I had more to add but most I wanted to post about this song is up there. That being this is exactly like the Australian remix on the cassette album.
Gotta keep my body tight. Gotta keep my body tight. Gotta keep my body tight. Gotta keep my body tight. Ye ha ha ha hey hey! Hello everyone from Southern Aussieland down here. 🙂 This pretty much was my introduction to The Models. I also think it is one of the most awesome albums of all time due to having three 12 inch mixes included. Almost unthinkable at the time. What a bargain! I had it on cassette and wore it out. I can even remember being in my young teens and getting ready to go out as a friend… Read more »
Great post, Paul! I have owned this 12″ for 30 years. You wouldn’t happen to have the US 7″ of this, would you? The b-side “Down in the Garden” is a song I have been looking for as a download for a long time.
Oh Paul how did I miss this?? I check in every day to get a new gem from you but I only realised you posted this a few days ago when I saw someone sharing it on soulseek! I love this band. Got into them via the UK remixed version of their second album ‘Local &/or General’. By the time of this release their style had changed somewhat…more INXS as ‘Memoryboy’ says. Would be happy to see more of their vinyl 12″ on here though…anything you have got! Some of the B-sides and extended mixes have never made it to… Read more »
I don’t remember this song… not sure I ever heard of these guys ever… Sorry I’m getting around to listening to this a few days after it was posted,… I kinda like this song…. kinda has an “INXS” sound to it…. Paul do you ever see this later comments after you’ve posted?
Yes I do see the later comments. I try to get back to them when I can but it doesn’t always happen 🙂
Que recuerdo para mas bonito, amo esta cancion, gracias amigo DjPaulT, por hacernos tan felices todos los dias.
De nada luciano 🙂
Everyday in every way you just make my world better and better.
Gotta keep my body …

Thank you Stephen 🙂
Love this record! Thanks so much for posting in such fine quality.
You’re welcome VanceMan 🙂
Awesome upload, indeed the Steve Thompson mix is actually the Nik Launay “Nnix Mmix” which is probably my favourite ever 12 inch remix, ultimately Mushroom Records Australia re-released quite a few of their singles as CD singles years ago as part of their 25th Anniversary, this Models release was one of those, it featured both the Nik Launay Nnix Mmix and Steve Thompson US Mix, however both tracks were identical as the Nik Launay remix, the Steve Thompson version remains a mystery.
Interesting Stu 🙂
Steve Thompson remixed the majority of the Australian version of the OOMOOS album, chucked in a horrible remix of I Hear Motion, and created the USA/CANADA version of OOMOOS. All up, the ST mixes were very inferior. Lots of reverb and unnecessary 80s effects.
Do yourself a favour and find the Australian original CD, on ebay or wherever. Far superior. It was rereleased on physical just a few years ago, easy to find.
Nice! This band is great!
Thanks 0101001x_x. Glad you like it 🙂
Thanks Paul, looking forward to hearing the US Mix! 🙂
You’re welcome micmij 🙂
I am fully wet, covered in sweat and dripping everywhere. This song is so lusty, it’s got me frothing like a rabid animal. And those wild EDITS!!! OH MY GOOOOOODNESS!! You know what Paul, this so reminds me of the dance mix of “What You Need” by INXS. Actually, I really think the remix is by Nick Launay and not Steve Thompson And Michael Barbiero as listed in the credits. I went to DISCOGS to check it out and the version from Australia has Nick Launay as the mixer. I even tried to find the release on youtube, but couldn’t.… Read more »
The label does say Thompson and Barbiero there was another 12″ released in Australia called “The Nnix Mmix!”.
I’m pretty certain that both mixes are actually the same animal… both by Nick Launay. He was prolific for INXS and MODELS during this period.
Loved this release back then! I bought the cassette version of the full length which came with all the 12 inch releases on the b-side/flip side. I will not complain if you post more 12 inch releases from them and this album! Thanks Paul!
ou’re welcome RA. See what I can do 🙂
If you need any vinyl source media for any Models stuff, just let me know. thx!
No problem!!
Hi. There’s a mistake on the 16 bit FLAC. The download incorporates the 320 too!
Thanks for letting me know I have corrected it.
No problem!
Getting a new posting from you Paul is like getting a very special hug!! I am reeling with excitement over this record!! My goodness!! And just yesterday a couple of us mentioned this record. I am literally shaking and quaking!! You see, I bought the CD a while ago which contained the remix, but was very disappointed in the sonic quality. With you Paul, I know it’s going to be the best possible sound because you just really, really care about the final outcome of a digitized vinyl record. Gosh, you so deserve more spotlight and cash, like one of… Read more »
