Burning The Ground Exclusive 1981
Happy Halloween!
“Impressions Of An American Werewolf In London” is the official 1981 soundtrack to the John Landis film “An American Werewolf in London” performed by American record producer and musician, Meco Monardo who is best known for his 1977 space disco version of the Star Wars theme.
The album was Meco’s final release on Casablanca Records and consists of cover versions of songs with a moon or werewolf theme there is even a nod to Emer Bernstein’s original film score on the instrumental track “The Boys” in addition Meco composed the original track “No More Mr. Nice Guy” not to be confused with the Alice Cooper song of the same name, there is even a Wolfman Jack impression on “Werewolf Serenade”.
The album is a fun listen especially during the Halloween spooky season. I hope you enjoy it.

Wow Paul – this is amazing, thank you!
If ever you come to the UK, I will take you to The Slaughtered Lamb!
I would love that however we would have to keep off the Moors 🙂
A terrific upload evoking great memories! Thanks so much, Paul.
You’re welcome, David 🙂
Fantastic. Very Thanks Paul.
You’re welcome, José 🙂
This is wonderful. Thanks so much, Paul! Happy Halloween!
You’re welcome, Mickey 🙂
Wow, thanks for this special and rare Halloween treat!! You never cease to surprise us!
Thanks so much Retro Hound 🙂
Oh I love this movie – super fun and scary and a great soundtrack! Official soundtrack never released but pretty easy to assemble on your own. This Meco release sounds like fun.
The Elmer Berstein score soundtrack has never been released. From what I have read the album is the official soundtrack John Landis the film’s director talks about it on the rear sleeve. Enjoy 🙂
Yes you are correct Paul. I wasn’t referring to the EB score, just the songs in the movie. It’s kind of funny that this would be considered the official release though…
Oh No Mr. Bill, these are not the original songs from the actual movie. I guess MECO did not get the rights to press the original songs. CCR’s “Bad Moon Rising” is the perfect song for the werewolf transformation scene.
I forgot to mention, Disney produced a sequel “An American Werewolf in Paris”. It was horrible.
I sort of liked the sequel although it cannot compare with the original 🙂
You are just too much Paul! As a long time fan of Meco, I was thrilled to see this come across my field of vision/hearing. I never would have imagined ever hearing this without you. I did know about its existence, but never heard the album, just a song from it on a best of Meco collection. I did get to meet him when I was in High School during a recording of the record “Christmas In The Stars – The Star Wars Christmas Album.” Our school choir was included on one of the cuts from the album. It was… Read more »
I wanted to do something different this year I am pretty sure this record might be my biggest undertaking. Happy Spooky Season 🙂
A great “B” movie that has a great sound track. One of the best werewolf transformation scenes ever filmed was in American Werewolf in London. Jenny Agutter is your dream nurse. If you have not seen this move, then go rent it this weekend!!!
Once again, I’ve got zero frame of reference for this film or the soundtrack. But it sure looks like fun!
Play it loud!!
Thanks, Paul 🙂
It is a wonderful film check it out if you can 🙂
