“Tears Run Rings” was the first single released from British synth-pop singer Marc Almond’s fourth solo album “The Stars We Are”. In the United States “Tears Run Rings” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 on January 21, 1989 peaking at #67 becoming Almond’s only solo single to peak inside the US Hot 100. On the UK singles chart the single reached the #25 position in 1988.

Have you heard his cover of Like A Prayer from 1992? I think coz of his style at the time, he suited it better than Madonna.
That’s a great version! It was recorded in 1992 don’t think it was ever released as a single but it is on a compilation called “Ruby Trax”.
Yeah, it was made specially and exclusively for Ruby Trax (it was a charity compilation), as were all the other artists’ cover versions.

Does anyone know off-hand if this is the same mix as “The La Magia Dance Mix”?
They’re similar times, I haven’t had a chance to compare.
They use to play a great mix on KROQ in LA, I’m hoping this is it, or possible the edit.
I am not familiar with that mix Cdmaniac maybe someone else will know. I love the Edit and dub 🙂
The “La Magia Dance Mix” appears to be the same mix as the “Extended Exclusive Mix” that was made available on the Offbeat sampler someone mentioned above, although the Offbeat mix I have fades out a little earlier. It’s easily my favorite mix of this song. Available on iTunes as part of the Treasure Box album.
No,The La Magia Dance Mix was released in the UK only on 12″ and later on the Treasure Box 2CD box set.
Truly underrated chartwise as a soloist.
Love the latin flavour Marc flirted with during this period, and the Strauss remixes really upped the single a few notches!
