this was actually already on a bootleg CD since 1998 🙂

The rip there sounds louder than this one (without clipping or compression), but I have not the ears to really judge audio quality!

A.D.S.C = Another Damned Song Completely
They didn’t like this mix but the record company forced them to release it.

Great band, I’ve seen them live over the years and I think I remember them performing this single.

Thanks Paul for this rare adsc mix 🙂

Thanks for posting the full version of this. It has been mentioned previously due to the addition of the wrong mixes included on the latest Level 42 ‘Best Of’. I had this in my ‘discogs’ want list, so thank you!

By the way, years ago I made a simply mix-up of the adsc mix and the dub mix.
Anyone interested? Send me an e-mail to 12inchesrule@gmx.net and I will upload to
dropbox.

Paulito, if my offer is against your rules please do delete it and accept my apologies!

I’ve heard recently that this is rare as on all the CD’s it features on happen to use the wrong mix. Stands for ‘Another damn song completely’ I think. Many thanks and more Level 42, please!

Hey Paul

Nice one. I have the 12inch, needless to say 🙂 , together with >30 other Level 42 12inches. Love them still.

Hey Paul. Funny enough, bought the Remixes compilation album by Level 42 a couple of days ago and this track isn’t featured. I’m quite unaware of this song and mix so look forward to listening to it as I do like the group. Anyway, it’s a real big thanks for this my friend. Also don’t suppose you have the long 9 minute “psycho mix” of Hearts on Fire by the terribly talented and marvellous Sam Harris? It’s virtually impossible to get over here in the UK and wonder if you have it in your massive collection. I would be eternally… Read more »

I wonder if somehow I got it from a remix service. Just looked at Discogs and I see a Disconet mix that runs at 8:35 mins, but the version I have is longer at 9:55. It’s not a bad copy so will probably suffice, though I do prefer the quality to be better.
Sam Harris is a brilliant singer. His voice is just fantastic. Remembering hearing his version of “Over the Rainbow” way back in the eighties and reducing me to complete tears. The emotion in the way he sings that song is mind-blowing and as for “The Rescue”, well!…

Although I’m aware of the band Level 42, so much of their discography I do not have, even on compact disc. Paul, through your generosity and gorgeous rips, I now have a greater love for this band beyond their everyday hits. Thank you so much for this single, especially for the quality you are world famous for.

Sincerely,

Jeff
