Hi Paul, was wondering if you will be uploading this again anytime soon, I have the mp3 but missed out on the flac. Thanks for all your hard work.
Simon
Great single choice, thanks Paul!
I would love to see more Level 42 posted in future 🙂
Thank you very much Paul!!!
Many thanks for posting this, Paul. My favourite Level 42 song. Never get sick of hearing it 🙂
As an aside, does anyone know off-hand which version of Micro-Kid was inclused on the original cassette release? I’m sure it was longer than the version when SITL was released on CD.
I’m not sure on that actually. Looked here (as you might have but no info)… http://www.discogs.com/Level-42-Standing-In-The-Light/release/6056315 I have been awaiting this mix for so many years that i decided to donate last year for the purchase of this 12″. I own it but condition i’m sure wouldn’t be near-mint or anywhere near up to Paul’s standard of condition as it would be one of my many late 80’s Car boot bargains and i’ve played it quite a lot. Ripped it to Minidisc in 1998 also. This is the best version beyond doubt IMHO and funnily enough after years of waiting… Read more »
I’ll be playing it loud as well when I get home from work!
Thanks for the info. I only discovered this morning about the 2014 2 x CD re-release. I have the previous one, but as SITL has always been my favourite Level 42 album, I’ll be picking that up too 🙂
Legit 😎
When Level 42 gained success with Something About You and Lessons In Love, their early hardcore fans cried foul and sellout. I though see it just as a progression of their musicality.
Thanks for their earlier single, Paul. They remasters are way too loud for any breathers!
If you could, I hope you can feature this in the future…

Thanks Paul for another classy choice!
Can’t remember if I mentioned this before, but George Michael was inspired to form Wham!because of Level 42.
Great 12″! Interesting to read the mix name came from this… “A.D.S.C.” Mix = “Another Damned Song Completely” (Mark King’s reaction upon hearing it the first time).
Thanks so much, DJPaulT. I love Level 42! I never understood why they weren’t more popular.
You’re welcome daveR 🙂
Love their early material, the best..
Thanks as always for the rip, Paul! 🙂
You’re welcome Ex15 🙂
How are we going to eat, and what floor’s the restaurant on?
Lol! 🙂
YES!!! More Level 42 please!!! Any chance you have the (nearly) 10 & a half minute Hot Water “Mastermix” in your library of goodness? Thanks again!
I’ll see what I can do Dana 🙂
13 months later and here it is. You may have forgotten so i’ve reminded you!
Thanks Paul, didn’t have Micro-kid. 🙂
You’re welcome Kent 🙂
THANK YOU!
I have this 12″ myself and my dubs have always been inferior. And yes, I too was amazed this 12″ mix of “MK” was *not* included on the deluxe remaster from 2014.
And as far as I know, this live recording is exclusive to this release as well (as least I haven’t found an officially released copy anywhere).
Awesome job on this whole site, too.. thanks DJPaulT!
Thanks LR 🙂
I agree with Jeff up there… B-side just as good as the A-side. Love that slap bass. Thanks!
You’re welcome Mothloop 🙂
There are no remixes of Freedom Someday. Album version and edit (B-side US 12-Inch of Lessons In Love) are all official version released. There are some demos floating around on the web.
Thanks for the info Ronald 🙂
Thanks for postin’ this. I always love Level 42 !! Is there a Remix of ”Freedom someday” ?
Take care
Patric
You’re welcome Patric 🙂
Thrilled to see (hear!) Level 42 here Paul!! I’m really happy too because of the John Luongo mix of “The Chinese Way” included here. You are absolutely the wish-granter and you make our musical dreams come true. Thank you oh so much!!!
Jeff
You’re welcome Jeff agreed the b-side is just as good as the a-side 🙂
Thanks for this DJ Paul T. Been a long time coming but well worth it. Also, those remasters from October did contain 6 mixes but to my amazement on arrival none of them were this long-lost (it seems) UK 12″ A side ‘Extended mix’. Never appeared on CD and now i’ve given up hope. Fortunately with your rips, i now no longer require a messed up compressed version that we are used to getting from record company mess-ups
Thank you Neil. Enjoy my friend 🙂
Excellent choice Paul. Love Level 42.
Thank you Omar 🙂
