BURNING THE GROUND EXCLUSIVE 1982
“Voyeur” is a song recorded by American singer-songwriter Kim Carnes for her seventh studio album of the same name (1982). Written by Carnes, her husband Dave Ellingson, and Duane Hitchings, the song is an uptempo synthpop track. It is the first track from the album, and it’s lead single. It peaked at #29 on the Billboard Hot 100.
“Voyeur” was a hit in the United States and in Europe, where it peaked highest in Norway (#5). It featured a then-controversial music video, which was later banned for its suggestiveness. The song received a nomination for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance at the 1983 Grammy Awards.

This song was the theme of the soap opera (Novela) “Sol de Verão” (1982). I didn’t even know there was an extended version… Thnk Paul
🙂 Thanks!!!
“Voyeur” was a big hit in Brazil in 1982-83 due to TV Globo’s soap opera “Sun of Summer”. In the international soundtrack there are also: Carl Carlton, The Korgis, Eddy Grant, Captain Sensible, Yazoo, Duran Duran and Janet Jackson.
Thank you Paul. I love Kim Carnes. I have this mix on CD. It is included on the 2001 remastered edition of the album “voyeur”. Still waiting for a proper rip of “Abadabadango”. The 12″ single contains 2 exclusive remixes which were never released digitally. Have a nice weekend.
Thanks..DJ P… Like a fun of Burningthe…and Kajagoogoo..Hang On now pls…Thanks…
“Voyeur” is a song I am extremely fond of. I have so many great memories of this song from when it was played on my college radio station when the record first came out. I really love Kim Carnes and her music. It’s such an interesting voice, like Bonnie Tyler. Your post of her “Draw of the Cards” is such a highlight for me also. I am so happy that you’ve posted this 12-inch mix. I’m hearing it in my head right now and I’ll probably be hearing it all through the Memorial Day weekend. Have a fantastic weekend Paul… Read more »
